President Donald Trump’s most recent financial disclosure has revealed an unusual agreement involving Getty Images and Melania Trump. In 2017, the First Lady has reportedly earned at least $100,000 in an agreement with Getty for the use of photos of the Trump family. ZY Optics has announced Mitakon Creator 135mm f/2.5, an affordable telephoto prime lens. But now, NASA’s had the science “scaled up” and has published a UHD video from the International Space Station. This is the first ever 8K video from the ISS and it gives you an insight into what it’s like to be inside the ISS and view our beautiful planet from there. The latest update of Adobe Photoshop includes the ability to restore an old photo in just one click, thanks to the software’s groundbreaking addition to their Neural Filters. Called ‘Photo Restoration’, the new filter uses AI to assess what needs to be fixed and uses tools such as content-aware fill to automatically ‘heal’ the image. The Neural Filters have been around since 2020, and include things like generating a shallow depth of field effect in portrait images, making a landscape image look as though it was shot in winter, and colourising black and white photographs....

Like how Nikon has been aggressively marketing the internal diameter of the Z mount being 17% larger than the Nikon F mount, the larger mount allows more flexibility in the optical design of the Z lenses just like their newest 58mm f0.95 Noct lens. Earlier this year, Nikon filed a patent for a new AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens. Now the company has officially announced the development of this FX-format lens, promising splendid optical performance in a compact and lightweight package. Nikon writes that the new 500mm f/5.6 lens will be significantly smaller and lighter than its predecessors. However, it’s not specified how much the size and the weight will change compared to the AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/4E FL ED VR....

Nikon is introducing two new apps that should make your workflow faster and easier, and they’re both completely free. The first is NX MobileAir, a smartphone app that transfers photos straight from your camera to your phone and uploads them to an FTP server. The second is NX Tether, a program for tethered shooting with Nikon cameras. NX MobileAir NX MobileAir eliminates the need for a computer when transferring photos from your camera....

Finally, Nikon seems to be adding some more entry-level glass to its Z lens lineup. Today, they have announced the new Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 S lens for its Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. It costs almost twice as much as its F mount counterpart, coming in at close to $800, but it’s a start. This is the seventh lens to be announced in the Nikon Z system, although we probably shouldn’t be surprised by the price given that the Nikkor Z 50mm f/1....

Well, this is a bit of a surprise. Popular filter maker NiSi is getting into the cinema lens market. Kicking off the launch, they’re introducing five brand new cinema lenses ranging from 25mm to 100mm (with a possible sixth 18mm lens on the way). The lenses will be available in Canon EF, Sony E and PL mounts and offer a nice variety of focal ranges right off the bat....

You may remember the case from September 2017: Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Shaw shot photographer Andy Grimm after mistaking his camera and tripod for a gun. On 22 March 2018, a grand jury decided that Shaw will not face criminal charges for injuring the photographer. The shooting happened when Grimm pulled over to take photos of a traffic stop. He set up a camera on a tripod, and reports say that Shaw mistook it for a gun and shot Grimm twice without a warning....

We’ve not heard much from Olympus for a while. Since the last Olympus interchangeable lens camera announcement. The flagship Olympus E-M1 Mark II was released back in 2016.
