The United Arab Emirates has banned all recreational flying of drones after a fatal attack on an oil facility and airport last week. From last Saturday drone hobbyists will face “legal liabilities” if caught piloting the devices. The ban is reportedly lasting one month, and anyone needing to operate a drone for business reasons including filming can apply to obtain the necessary permissions and licenses. Although not mentioned in conjunction with the announcement about the ban, it is assumed that the order was made in response to the attack by Houthi rebels last week....

A well-known photo editing app VSCO is acquiring Rylo, the company behind the 360˚ 5.8K camera. Under the new ownership, Rylo is about to make editing tools for mobile videos. And sadly, it seems like they won’t be making new cameras anymore. In a press release, VSCO’s CEO Joel Flory writes: Flory notes that it’s clear that VSCO users want more video tools. A wedding photographer in Australia is suing a wedding venue and styling company after she slipped on a piece of fabric and broke her knee. She claims that the injury has affected both the personal and business aspects of her life. So, she’s suing the venue and the company for more than $570,000 AUD. The incident occurred in 2017 when photographer Bernadette Draffin was shooting a wedding in Queensland. She reportedly slipped on a sash which should have been tied around a chair....

Texas wedding photographer recently got sick with coronavirus after a wedding she photographed. She contracted the virus at the maskless ceremony, thanks to the groom who hadn’t disclosed that he was positive.
