Japan’s National Institute of Informatics (NII) recently warned the public about taking and publishing photos with popular two-fingered pose. They claim that flashing “V” sign in photos may lead to your identity being stolen. The reason is that fingerprint recognition technology became so advanced and widely available, that a simple snapshot of a person holding up the “peace” sign may lead to someone stealing their identity. Leica has released a new firmware update for the M10-P, M10-R and M10 Monochrom cameras that adds a new Perspective Control feature to the camera for correcting perspective distortion. It’s designed to help get your horizons straighter and to stop vertical lines converging with each other as they get further away from the camera. It’s a similar effect to using tilt-shift lenses to correct the issues inherent with photographing something on-axis, except this is done digitally....

Light, the company behind the Light L16 camera which contains 16 sensors and lenses, has announced that they’ve teamed up with Sony to create the next generation of multi-camera smartphones. Well, we knew Light was working on something to do with phones, and now it looks like it’s official. The press release doesn’t go into a massive amount of detail, except to say that the agreement reached allows Light to recommend Sony sensors for use in designs amongst their customers and partners....
