Pentax Is Not Dead As Ricoh Announced Development Of New Flagship Aps C Dslr

So, we don’t know what it’s called, but it will be a Pentax K mount DSLR, it will have an APS-C sized sensor and it will be released at some point in 2020. That’s pretty much all that Pentax has announced so far, other than the picture above. It doesn’t even have a name. Perhaps some more info will appear in the coming days, though, as Ricoh say that it will be shown off at the “Pentax Meeting 100th Anniversary Special” event, scheduled to be held in Japan from September 21st....

Photographer Called Out For Fat Shaming After Over Editing A Couple S Photos And Trashing Them On Facebook

The extent to which we retouch photos can sometimes end up in a huge misunderstanding. This is exactly what happened to an Ohio-based wedding photographer. She photographed a couple and made them noticeably thinner in Photoshop. This caused the bride to accuse the photographer of fat-shaming. But it’s not all: the photographer had her side of the story about the “difficult clients,” which she shared on Facebook. Her rant reached the clients and caused an even bigger mess....

Firooz Zahedi, the photographer behind the iconic Pulp Fiction movie poster, filed a lawsuit against Miramax. Photographer Loses Embedding Lawsuit Against Meta For Now

Earlier this year, a photographer filed a lawsuit against Meta. As in some previous cases, it was because of Meta’s embed tool which allows anyone to add photos to third-party websites without asking for permission. However, the photographer lost the case – or more precisely, he lost this round. The judge gave him permission to amend his complaint, which means that he could win the war despite losing this battle....

Julie Dermansky, a New Orleans-based photojournalist, is suing Trump Organization for using her photo without permission. Apparently, they didn’t either request the photographer’s permission or gave her credits. So, she is seeking $150,000 damages and a court trial, claiming that Trump Org. illegally profited off her work. The photo in question was shot in January 2016 at Trump Rally in Alabama....

Photographing The Milky Way With A Smartphone And The Future Of Photography

Some believe that smartphones will never replace “real cameras” like DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. This article is about providing evidence to the contrary and about making some amazing images with limited equipment. Here’s my account on shooting some of my first images of the Milky Way with nothing but a smartphone and a tripod. Introduction The above photo was made with a smartphone. Smartphone sensor technology has actually been quite good for a couple years but it’s only just now that we’re seeing the right combination of sensors, lenses and software to make photographs that were once only possible on enthusiast-oriented, large sensor cameras....

Photoshop S Hotkeys Speed Up Your Workflow And Free Up More Time For Shooting

Most of us have a fairly solid order of priorities in our lives. Family comes first, then photography, then everything else. For some folks, those first two are the other way around, but whatever allows us to spend more time with our family or our camera is a good thing. I don’t really consider sitting at a computer to be photography, and as such, I want to spend as little time doing it as possible....

Playing Third Wheel To A Camera Six Tips For Partners Of Photographers

The sky was still dark when we left our lodgings in northeast England. Luke carefully drove the narrow hedge-lined roads. I closed my eyes for a few more precious moments of sleep. “Why am I doing this?” I wondered, I’ve wondered many times when I partook in Luke’s photo expeditions – during a bitterly cold winter sunrise in Utah, on a treacherous hike a razor’s edge from a raging river in Iceland, while climbing to a mountain lake at dusk in Colorado....

Do you like lens flares? And I don’t mean those CGI flares. No sirs! We are talking about real lens flares made with real vintage lenses. Are you sharp enough to match the lens to the flare? Report Canon Orders Viltrox And Possibly Others To Stop Selling Rf Mount Lenses

If you wondered why major third party lens manufacturers like Sigma and Tamron hadn’t released any RF mount lenses yet, this might explain it. It seems that Canon is being a bit heavy-handed when it comes to those manufacturers that do. At least, that’s the case according to Viltrox who told a customer that Canon has told them specifically to stop selling “all RF mount products”. The statement came from Viltrox in an Instagram conversation when a user enquired as to why he couldn’t download the firmware for Viltrox RF lenses from the Viltrox website....

Samsung Apparently Bringing Back Their Android Powered Mirrorless Cameras With 108Mp Nx Ultra

So, I just read a post over on Digital Camera World stating that Samsung is reintroducing their NX mirrorless camera series. For those that hadn’t seen them, it was an Android-powered interchangeable lens mirrorless camera system that actually looked pretty good. In fact, it was probably a little ahead of its time back when they were still releasing them. Then, pretty much overnight Samsung pulled them. Rumours of their resurrection pop up every now and again, but they invariably turn out to be false....
