The interview was primarily about the new Panasonic S5, but it also offers a glimmer of home for Micro Four Thirds shooters who’ve patiently been waiting for news of a GH5 successor....

Panasonic Streaming Now Available On The Mac And Lumix G Series Firmware Updates Announced

Panasonic has announced that their LUMIX Streaming (Beta) software is now available for the Mac. Unfortunately, it’s the same hacky workaround as it is on Windows. Yes, that’s right, Panasonic has also announced that they’re soon coming up with an actual software driver so that your computer (Windows or Mac) will see your Panasonic camera as an actual USB capture device....

Pentax Is Sticking To Dslrs Still Has No Plans For A Mirrorless Camera

A recent tweet from Japanese photographer Kimio Tanaka, a regular source of Ricoh/Pentax insider info, states that they have no plans to introduce a mirrorless camera in either 35mm or 645 medium formats. This time, it isn’t just a rumour leak. Tanaka says that in this case he is speaking on behalf of Ricoh and is not merely expressing an opinion. The Google-translated tweet reads… I’m not entirely sure what the deal is with the swinging sleeves (if somebody is able to explain that, I’d be very grateful), but given the tweet that Mr Tanaka was responding to, the intent is quite obvious....

Photographer Shops Out Ex Gang Members Tattoos Resutls Bring Them To Tears

Photographer Steven Burton started an ambitious project, photoshopping out the tattoos from 27 ex-gang members. He did this to understand the effects tattoos have on people escaping the gangs, how they are judged by society and ultimately how they judge themselves. While the photoshop aspects of removing tattoos are quite fascinating (over two years and 400 photoshop hours), it’s the affect that the shopped photos had that caught my eyes....

Photography Is An Antidepressant

I’ve just uploaded the first in a series of short films I’m making called “Photography Is…” I’ll be exploring what photography means to people and what it’s benefits are, as well as it’s drawbacks. Staab was covering the so-called “Mask BBQ Party,” organized by Free Oregon. Portraits Of Honor Photographing The Last Of The Wwii Veterans

This is a year for monumental anniversaries of events in American history—particularly the WWII 75th anniversaries of the D-Day invasion, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. With those in mind, I started a project in April photographing WWII veterans, knowing that the numbers still surviving are dropping rapidly each day. I called the project WWII Portraits of Honor. I simply wanted to use my talent as a photographer to give something small back to as many WWII veterans as I could meet and provide them and their family with a nice portrait....
