Will Canon be releasing another mirrorless camera body sometime soon? Well, according to the site Canon Rumours they certainly seem to think so. The site apparently has good sources that have said that there will be a Canon R6 Mark II coming out “sooner rather than later” and they even have the specs. Now it must be noted that the specifications are extremely early and not reliable information. They are in fact, just rumours....
About three years ago, Jasmine Star was busted for copying content from various photography bloggers around the web. It was so bad that Jasmine’s speaking slot on WPPI was canceled. Jasmine issued a public apology and we all thought that the story was over. Seems like nothing has changed. You’d think with the number of artists and groups calling out or banning the use of cellphones at concerts that people would get the message by now. Apparently not. During a recent Judas Priest concert, the band were performing their song Judas Rising at the Rosemont Theatre in Illinois last Saturday when frontman Rob Halford noticed somebody in the front row with their phone out filming the concert. Sure, he could’ve stopped the show and made everybody wait while people put their phones away, but why punish others for the stupidity of a few?...
The interim president of Kazakhstan Qasym-Zhomart Toqaev has been in the center of a recent Photoshop fail. In his official images, the leader’s face has been so obviously beauty-retouched, that they look like he applied beauty filters for Instagram. And as an assumption goes, it’s all done to make him look as a younger and as a “fresh face.” Toqaev became the interim president after Kazakhstan’s longtime President Nursultan Nazarbaev unexpectedly resigned in March current year....
The folks at Kolari Vision have been working hard on trying to solve the Canon EOS R5 overheating issues for a while now. They were the first to tear open the EOS R6 and publish what they saw. They also identified the timer that was causing the camera to shut down at the predetermined times with the original firmware. When Canon updated the EOS R5 firmware, though, it now seemed to be looking at the actual temperature rather than using a timer – which opened up the possibilities for cooling....
In the latest Lightroom Classic CC update, Adobe has introduced some novelties. The 7.3 version contains new color profiles, some bugs have been fixed, and new cameras and lenses are supported – including the Sony A7III. In the latest Lightroom update, it seems that Adobe has decided to make Profiles a more important feature. The “Profiles” panel is now moved to the top of the Basic panel. According to Adobe, it should be “a starting point or foundation” of image editing....
Leica cameras and lenses certainly aren’t among the cheapest ones in the market – and they’re about to get even more expensive. Starting from 1 April current year, Leica is going to increase prices across nearly an entire range of its gear. Red Dot Forum shared Leica’s press release with more details. The prices will go up between 2 and 5%, which doesn’t sound like much. But depending on the piece of gear, some items may cost up to $1,000 more....
Leica has just announced a new version of an existing camera: the Q2 Reporter Edition. Similar to the M10-P Reporter, it was also designed with photojournalists in mind. It’s sleek, pretty and discreet, and it won’t even cost you much more than the regular Q2. The Leica Q2 Reporter Edition is basically all about the enhanced design and its discreet appearance. It lacks the iconic red Leica dot on the front and the engraving on the top plate, so you don’t have to cover it with tape any longer....
Leica has now officially unveiled the Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm f/2.8 ASPH lens and, well… it looks like it’s basically the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens in a different housing. The specs of the two lenses are virtually identical, except the one with Leica written on it is more than two and a half times the price at $2,795. The number of elements, groups, minimum focus distance, magnification factor, everything is basically the same....
According to Leica Rumors, Leica will announce a new full-frame mirrorless camera around June 14th. LR suggests that the camera will to will called the Leica C-M (or CM). No final confirmation yet. The new Leica full-frame camera is supposedly a “link between the CL and the SL models.” That makes me wonder if they’re making their newest offering more compact like Sony’s full-frame mirrorless line. Well, I certainly hope they’ll make it sleeker than both the CL and the SL lines....
Other than removing the fly, Roger and Aaron tested the lens out to see how it affects the image. And surprisingly enough, a dead bug inside a 70-200mm lens doesn’t affect the image quality nearly as much as one would have thought. Lensrentals, the largest online renting service of photo and video gear, announced that they’re adding of drones and virtual reality (VR) equipment for rental across the US. Starting from today, you’ll be able to rent Mavic DJI Pro, DJI Phantom 4 Pro and DJI Inspire 2, along with the additional equipment. As for the VR gear, Orah 4i and Nikon gear and accessories will be available through Lensrentals. Lensrentals Co-owner Drew Cicala says in the press release that their goal is to ensure they’re “maintaining [their] high standards for providing ‘like new’ equipment to enable our customers to capture the best quality imagery....

They are also facing a lawsuit by San Francisco district attorney’s office for false advertising and unfair business practices.
