First reported by Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, the country’s highest court ruled on Friday that it is now illegal to fly drones with attached cameras in public places as they qualify as surveillance cameras. It’s a huge blow to Sweden’s hobbyist drone community. Hobbyists in Sweden are understandably upset, and the initial reactions are about as would be expected. Today Fujifilm announced the X-H2. A 40MP, 8K APS-C camera, the camera brings some serious specs and not just in terms of crop sensors. Fujifilm have today announced two new X-Series cameras, the X100F and X-T20, along with a new XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens. The X100F represents the fourth generation in the X100 series and comes with the 24.3MP sensor found in the higher end X-Pro2 and X-T2 cameras. The X-T20 also comes with the 24.3MP sensor and shoots 4K video. The X100, however, is limited to only 1080p. Fuji have also given up the price for their new medium format GFX camera....

Fujifilm has issued a press release stating that their antiviral drug, Avigan, is to enter Phase II clinical trials in the USA. As previously reported, Avigan caused Fujifilm’s shares to increase by 8.8% in February after Japanese health authorities announced their plans to recommend it for COVID-19 treatment. Their shares jumped 15% after successful trials of the drug in China. Avigan, also available in other parts of the world under the name “Favipiravir”, has been approved in Japan as an influenza antiviral drug, but it’s also been effective in treating other viruses such as ebola....

Yes, the Japanese company, Fujifilm Holdings, which makes everything from cameras to makeup is acquiring Xerox in a $6.1 billion deal. The merger is reported to have a combined revenue of $18 billion. The two companies have been partners under the brand Fuji Xerox for over 50 years, but now Fuji will become the majority stakeholder in the American company, made famous by its photocopiers. Under the new deal, the existing Fuji Xerox will become a subsidiary of Xerox, while the combined company will become Fuji Xerox under the ownership of Fujifilm Holdings....

Stock photo platform Getty Images has sued Stability AI, the maker of AI image generator Stable Diffusion. Getty alleges that the tech company unlawfully scraped millions of copyrighted images that Getty owns or represents. As they reportedly never asked for permission to do so, Getty claims that Stability AI benefited commercially, while harming the artists whose work it used to train its AI. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Getty writes that it filed the lawsuit against Stability AI in the High Court of Justice in London....
