Recently, Yongnuo announced their 35mm f/2 lens for Nikon. It’s basically the YN 35mm f/2 for Canon but with a Nikon mount. What makes this interesting is that it’s different to both of Nikon’s similar offerings; the 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX, and the 35mm f/2D AF. Notably, it is both a full frame lens and appears to have a built in AF motor. Nikon’s 35mm f/1.8G features a built in AF motor, but designed for DX bodies....

From a photo-sharing platform, Instagram has almost become everything but one. So maybe this doesn’t come as a surprise – non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are soon to come to Instagram and join a bunch of non-photographic options that are already there. This information is not merely a rumor. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently confirmed it, saying that NFTs are coming to Instagram over the next several months. A black bear walking along a trail in Boulder, Colorado, recently found a trail camera set up by the city’s Open Space and Mountain Parks agency to monitor wildlife. What resulted, however, was a selfie-fest that would put any Kardashian to shame. “Of the 580 photos captured,” says the Boulder OSMP Twitter post, “about 400 were bear selfies.” The images that the agency posted alongside the caption are pretty funny, almost as if the bear is “feeling cute” and wanted to share that with its followers....

The hypothetical Panasonic GH6 has been long-rumoured with little but radio silence from Panasonic. And while the Panasonic GH5 was only released in early 2017, rumours of the GH6 have been around since early 2019. It’s started to feel a little like the Nikon D400. Recently, in an interview with CineD, Panasonic Imaging director Yasuke Yamane suggested that a GH6 might be on the way. Well, now, Mr Yamane has confirmed that the GH6 is most definitely coming in a new video released by Panasonic explaining their vision for the future of Panasonic’s camera systems and the industry as a whole....

People of Instagram would do anything for likes, no matter how dangerous, disrespectful or stupid it is. The latest trend on Instagram is taking photos near or in “Novosibirsk Maldives,” a gorgeous azure lake in Siberia. The problem is that a nearby coal plant uses this artificial lake to dump ash, so it’s heavily polluted. But it seems that the Insta-craze has gone so far, that the company running the plant had to issue an official warning against swimming in it....

We post fairly regularly about various tricks for getting better photos with your phone. Rarely, though, is there a focus on video. Lately, though, it seems that video is a more common occurrence with our phones than stills. You don’t need a bunch of fancy expensive rigs and lenses to make the most of it, though. Lens There are several good lens options for macro photography. You could use extension tubes combined with a normal lens, which gives you some magnification. Or even better, you could reverse a normal lens, which combined with extension tubes gives even more magnification. The most convenient and flexible option though, especially for a beginner within macro photography, is to get a dedicated macro lens. The most popular models come in focal lengths between 90-105 mm, and have 1:1 magnification....

She used an aluminum beer can, some duct tape, and placed and light-sensitive photo paper inside. She attached her camera to one of the telescope domes at the university’s Bayfordbury Observatory. After exactly eight years and one month, the observatory’s Principal Technical officer David Campbell removed it from the dome, and the project was successful....
