Nikon Z50 Promotional Images Leak Ahead Of Official Announcement

It’s not quite official, but almost. Nokishita has posted a couple of Nikon Z50 promotional images to Twitter ahead of an official announcement from Nikon. When images like these leak, an actual announcement is almost certainly within a few days away. Nokishita leaked a not great Z50 photo earlier along with the new 16-50mm APS-C Z mount lens, although it did show something of the camera’s form, which isn’t all that different from the “Z1” photo which got out several months ago....

Olympics Photography Workflow Going Through 2000 Images To Deliver 25 Selections Asap

I was joking with someone yesterday about the craziness of the Olympics, and the pressures that we are all under during the Games. We were talking about how the world has different time zones and maybe they should add another just for the Olympics. For the media here, there is absolutely no consistency to our eating and sleeping patterns and time is just different. When a bus is 10 minutes late at home, it usually is no big deal, but here at the Olympics, when you are under deadlines all the time, ten minutes seems like an eternity....

Omar Z Robles Shoots Amazing Photographs Of Ballet Dancers In The Street

I don’t know about you, but for me, when it comes to photographing people, dancers make the absolute best subjects. They just have such control over every part of their body that allows them to produce the most amazing shapes. I don’t get to photograph them anywhere nearly as often as I’d like. Somebody who does photograph them regularly, though, and extremely well is photographer Omar Z Robles. With a long history in performing arts, Robles now focuses exclusively on dancers....

Panasonic Says Their Full Frame And Mft Cameras And Lenses Will Not Be Increasing In Price

It seems odd for a company to make a statement that they’re not raising their prices, but when every other camera manufacturer on the planet seems to be raising theirs, it kind of makes sense to take a public stand. In a chat with Amateur Photographer, Panasonic Europe has confirmed that all of its cameras and lens ranges, both full-frame and micro four thirds, will not be increasing in price....

Pentax K 5 Iis Gets Covered With Pink Fire Retardant Hosed Off And Carries On Shooting

I always find it interesting to read about the things cameras survive that the manufacturers could never have foreseen. X. Fire and ice, car crashes, months under the ocean, rocket engines, and even babies. Photographer Brian Maneely recently discovered just how tough and sealed his Pentax K-5 IIs was. While photographing a wildfire, it was doused with pink fire retardant and then hosed off with water. In June, there was a wildfire that got extremely close to his property....

People Are Sharing Hilariously Bad Stock Photos Of Their Jobs And They Will Make Your Day

Thanks to a recent trend on Twitter, people are publishing bad stock photos of their jobs. They represent them in a completely inaccurate and unprofessional way, often even inappropriate – but every time it’s completely hilarious. It started with photos of scientists and doctors, but the people of other professions got involved as well, and it’s hysterical. The hashtag under which all these ridiculous photos are united is #BadStockPhotosOfMyJob. I have chosen some of my personal favorites, and trust me, the competition was strong!...

Photographer Recreates Famous Gustav Klimt Paintings With Real Life Models Nsfw

It’s amazing when one art inspires another and how they can intertwine. Austrian photographer Inge Prader was inspired by a famous artist Gustav Klimt, and she created photos based on his paintings. Her inspiration was Klimt’s Golden Phase, and she used real-life models, costumes, and props to recreate his works. Just like the originals painted between 1899 and 1910, Inge’s recreations are vivid, full of golden hues and sometimes erotic....

Photographing A Mosquito Hatching From Its Pupa

I suppose like most photographers I have a “photographic bucket-list”, and documenting the life-cycle of the much maligned Mosquito has always been high on that list. Like many of my projects this turned out to be quite the undertaking filled with many challenging and unique problems. Mosquitoes start off as eggs which hatch into larvae. The larvae, also called wrigglers feed on algae and micro-organisms in the water. They spend much of their time at the water’s surface sucking oxygen through breathing tubes attached at their tail....
