Sony has confirmed in an interview with DPReview that the Sony A7S II successor is finally going to be coming later this summer. It seems, though, that Sony is shifting the focus of the camera, slightly. It’s still expected to be the video-centric powerhouse that A7S II users have come to know and love, but it’s had a complete redesign. It looks like Nikon might be preparing to announce a new flagship mirrorless camera sooner than expected. And, no, it’s not coming in next week’s announcement. Nikon Rumors is reporting that they’ve received a set of specs for a Nikon Z9 camera from a reliable source, to be announced in autumn 2021. It would essentially be the mirrorless follow-up to the Nikon D6 released earlier this year. It might seem odd to replace it so soon, but with no other company really having a mirrorless camera at that level yet, the race is most definitely on....

News of Fujifilm working on a 100-megapixel camera has been around since Photokina 2018 last September. Finally, only last month, it was unveiled. The Fuji GFX 100 is Fujifilm’s latest flagship mirrorless medium format camera. The folks from Cinema5D got the opportunity to travel to Japan to see the birth of this new camera and monitor its development. Naturally, they shot video so the rest of us could take a peek....

It seems that these days, 3rd party lens manufacturers are doing everything they can to try to upstage everybody else. After Nikon’s recent introduction of the 105mm f/1.4E, Tamron have now filed a patent for a 115mm f/1.4 VC lens. If they make it, this would make it the longest f/1.4 autofocus* lens out there, taking Nikon’s recent crown. What’s even more interesting than the slightly longer focal length is the fact that this lens comes with VC (their version of VR/IS)....

There’s been so much hype around the Tamron 28-75mm. f/2.8 Di RXD lens since the beginning of the year, but now Tamron is saying that they can’t keep up with the demand. The new lens was supposed to start shipping on May 24th, but it will inevitably be delayed for many customers since the number of reservations has apparently exceeded the production rate. Or at least this is what Tamron says....

As you probably know, TIME Magazine has recently published a list of 100 most influential photos of all time. Of course, Tank Man can’t be left out from this list, since it’s definitely one of the most iconic and influential photos ever taken. Jeff Widener took it in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, when the Chinese troops attacked pro-democracy demonstrators. We’ve seen plenty of Photoshop fails in promotional posters or magazines (and this is my absolute favorite). The latest fail has been spotted in promotional pictures for The Apprentice, where fans noticed that some contestants look like they have three hands. Of course, people were quick to joke about it on social media. But BBC claims that it’s not a Photoshop fail, but that a “lightning illusion” is to blame....

A new light is coming from Aputure soon, and it contains a whole lot of brightness in the size of a credit card. Although it’s not officially announced yet, they showed off the prototype on Cinema 5D. The light is named Amaran MX, and despite the size, it seems really powerful. It’s five times brighter than its predecessor Aputure M9, and it comes along with some other improved features....

These days, there are a lot of modifiers out there for speedlights, but this is certainly amongst the more unusual ones I’ve seen. It’s the “Dualflash” and it’s about to launch on Kickstarter. What it essentially does is turn your single speedlight into two. Kind of. It splits the output into two separate sections, but its practical uses seem fairly limited. Like most speedlight modifiers, it slots over the head of the flash and then holds on with a velcro strap....

With the advent of mirrorless, lens adapters have become very popular. With such a short flange distance, mirrorless cameras offer so many more lens options. You might not always get the full benefit of the lens, and some might kill your camera, but overall they’re extremely useful. Fotodiox have just launched a new series of lens adapters for Sony, Micro Four Thirds and Fuji mirrorless cameras for a range of lenses....

According to reports on Reddit and Google’s support forums, some users of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have come forward to say that it’s not saving all of their photos. And it appears that it also affects the original Pixel, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as well. Several members of staff at The Verge have also confirmed this issue with their own phones.
