Modifying My Mavic 2 Pro Remote To Act More Like An Aircraft Style Controller

I’m having a go at converting my DJI Mavic 2 remote controller from two thumbsticks to a more Aircraft style controller where a whole hand joystick controls Pitch, Roll and Yaw and the left stick only controls Throttle / Altitude. The first step is opening up a second-hand remote I bought to see if this is possible. Dismantling and testing Looks like I can solder on to the back of the thumbstick connections and access the photo trigger button contacts....

Moment Strohl Mountain Light 45L Backpack A Camera Backpack For Serious Wilderness Photographers

Perhaps a far better approach then is to find a bag that exactly fits the requirements for a particular type of photography. Most of us do more than one type, and I must say that the requirements of an outdoors adventure photographer will be very different from say, a city-based portraits on-location photographer. With this in mind, I got to test out the Moment Strohl Mountain Light 45L camera backpack and give it a good run through its paces in the outdoors....

Need A Bit More Light This Camera Bag Features A Built In Reflector

We’ve all seen bags before that feature things like built in white balance or exposure tools. My Lowepro Slingshot, for example, while not neutral, seems pretty close to 18% grey when I open up the flap. Perfect for quickly metering while out and about. But what about a built in reflector? Well, that’s the new Flash Bag. The Flash Bag is essentially a messenger style camera bag. When you open up the front flap, it turns into a shiny metallic silver reflector....

Not Falling On Your Crotch Is More Important Than Having A Nice Wedding Video

Your wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. The photos of it document the momentous occasion to remember and enjoy it for the rest of your life. For this couple, however, it may be a day they want to forget. During a wedding photo session, the bride was walking along a 4ft high metal railing. Then, she slipped and landed right on her crotch. Instantly shrieking in pain and begging for her new husband to help her, she is lifted off the railing....

On Gratitude Your Camera Already Has The Most Important Feature

There is something all-newcomer photographers tend to do, they either dream of camera gear or buy a lot of it. When I started in photography I went through the same thing. I thought that I needed all the lenses that my idols used, I believed I needed the biggest megapixel camera, with all the film features just in case a potential client wanted video. But over time with age came wisdom....

Ottawa Stop Using National Holocaust Monument As A Photoshoot Backdrop

Nothing is sacred to some people when it’s time to collect likes and comments on social media. But there are choices of photoshoot backdrops and environments which are more shocking than others. One of these examples is the National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa, Canada. Ever since the monument was revealed, tourists have been flocking to its somber, massive concrete slabs to pose for photos. Even a local clothing company recently did the same, causing a fierce backlash....

Panasonic Japan Has Officially Discontinued The Lumix Lx100 Ii 4 3 Sensor Compact Camera

Panasonic Japan has officially killed off the Lumix LX100 II. Released in 2018, this follow-up to the popular LX100 stood out amongst the compact camera competition by having the same large 20.3-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor as the Panasonic Lumix GX9. Capable of shooting 4K UHD video, with a built-in 24-75mm equivalent f/1.7-2.8 lens, the LX100 II also proved to be quite popular. But now its time has come to an end....

Panasonic Patents New 70 200Mm 70 300Mm And 100 400Mm Full Frame Zoom Lenses

If there’s one thing Panasonic’s famous for, it’s inexpensive full-frame lenses. Oh, wait, no, the other one. They’re not famous for inexpensive full-frame lenses. The L mount has proven popular, but when we look at something as ubiquitous as a 50mm f/1.8, the Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 costs more than double the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM and almost double that of the Sony E mount 50mm f/1.8. But it looks like Panasonic might actually be starting to focus a little more on less expensive lenses....

People Call Out Khlo Kardashian Over Photoshop Fail Turns Out It S Wide Angle Distortion

We’ve all seen a bunch of hilarious Photoshop fails (with Vanity Fair adding extra limbs to people probably being my favorite). Khloé Kardashian recently got accused of one because of her huge feet and hands in some photos. But she was unrightfully accused – it was just a wide-angle lens distortion and she tried really hard to explain it to her followers. Khloé shared some photos to promote Good American, her size-inclusive fashion line....

Peter Hurley S Keys To The Car Of Success

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Peter Hurley for the better part of an hour in order to try and scratch a little deeper into his life, find out what drove him, what keep his motors running, his passion and drive seemingly endless. Now, IMMEDIATELY I have to apologise for the audio representation here, I was recording the audio strictly for notes and references, but some of the audio was just so powerful to hear from another creative that I had to share it, I figured that the information was more valuable than the lack of presentation just this once....

Photographer Recreates Famous Tv Show Scenes With Model Toy Cars

For those of us who grew up in the 80s, scenes like those above were pretty common to our TV screens. The Dukes of Hazzard, The A-Team, Knight Rider, and countless other shows would deliver us 30 minute chunks of the most amazing vehicular acrobatics we’d ever seen. These days, it would probably done with CGI, but there was something about those practical effects that makes them stand out. One photographer not going the CG route is Felix Hernández....

However, his laptop was deemed unsafe and he ended up being stuck in a foreign country. Photography Copycats The Fine Line Between Inspiration And Ripping Off Others

This is a tricky article to write. I’m writing it because of observations I’ve made within the photography community, so here goes. As photographers, we all know that copying other photos and reverse engineering them is part and parcel of our learning experience. We’ve all been on more or less the same journey, impressing ourselves with what we now know to be rather cliché shots that, at the time, we thought were amazing....

Police Are Trying To Reunite This Camera With Its Owner Do You Recognise Them

Posts like these have become fairly common the last couple of years. A lost GoPro here, a missing DSLR there. And we all want to do what we can to help (hence this post). But this has to be the most hilarious attempt to reunite a camera with its owner that I’ve seen. Why? Because all of the faces are obscured. It seems that they were blurred by the Police themselves, but it’s going to make identifying them kind of tricky....
