Bob Dylan Stops His Concert To Call Out Fans For Taking Photos

Bob Dylan is a phenomenal songwriter, but when it comes to speaking to fans from the stage, we can say that he is a man of few words. However, this changed on Tuesday evening in Vienna. The crowd tried to take photos of the concert despite the strict “no photo” policy, which made Dylan stop the show and speak to the photo-snapping fans to call them out. Reportedly, as Dylan and his band were playing Blowin’ in the Wind, smartphones in the audience started showing up....

While the former Milwaukee & Detroit point guard was a free agent, fan “Alex L” suggested he sign with the Sacramento Kings using one of the worst Photoshop jobs in sports history to illustrate his point. https://twitter.com/EarIThomas/status/749792611393605633 Needless to say, Jennings was not very impressed by the artist’s abilities....

Building An Ultra Large Format 16 20 Camera With A Massive Aerial Lens And Cardboard

A few years ago I built an ultra-large format camera that is 24 inches by 24 inches. While it was a pretty huge camera, it was a simple build it was just two square standards, one for the front and one from the back which was connected by a big bellow. There was no support base or focusing rails and I just support the two standards by using two tripods so it was not the most stable camera....

It’s been a mere couple of days since Canon announced the release of not one, but two new mirrorless APS-C cameras. And now they’ve already issued an apology for severe delays in meeting demand for their new products, the Canon EOS R7, EOS R10, and the RF-S lenses. Canon File New Patents For One Curved And One Bendy Sensor

Technically, I suppose, it’s two curved sensors. But, one of them can actually be bent and have the curve adjusted at will. At least, that’s how it seems if I’m reading this right. The reasons for these curved sensors seem to cite primarily technical and practical benefits of a curved sensor. One that can be bent at the user’s behest, though, opens up a whole host of potentially cool and interesting creative options for the future of photography....

Canon Has Officially Announced Its New 24 105Mm F 4 7 1 Rf Mount Kit Lens

Well, there was bound to be a cheap “kit lens” coming along at some point for Canon’s RF mount. I don’t think anybody anticipated it having an aperture quite this slow, but here we are. Canon has now officially announced their new Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM lens for RF mount mirrorless cameras. But, for a lightweight kit lens with this kind of zoom range, it’s to be expected....

Canon Italy Responds To Photo Theft Allegation With Blind Ignorance

Earlier we posted about an image that Canon Italia had shared to their Facebook page and Instagram. An image not only shot on a camera that wasn’t a Canon (it was a Fuji X-T1), but a composite based on a stolen photograph created by Elia Locardi. At least, that’s the way that anybody with a pair of eyes sees it. Canon Italia, though, seems to think that it’s a similar but entirely different image that wasn’t even shot at the same time of year....

Canon Medical Begins Development Of Rapid Testing System For Covid 19

It seems that Fujifilm isn’t the only camera company making headlines in the fight against COVID-19 coronavirus. Canon has announced that Canon Medical Systems Corporation (Canon Medical) has started the development of a rapid genetic testing system for the novel coronavirus. The rapid diagnostic test kits they say are part of a research programme focused on developing diagnostics methods for COVID-19 led by the Japanese Agency for Medical Research. As to how soon Canon will be able to develop a fully working system or how quickly it might be deployed in Japan or elsewhere in the world upon completion is unknown, although judging by their response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2015, we may see some results fairly soon....

Canon Patent Shows Giant New Lcd Flip Screen For Dslrs

People have been begging Canon for years to put flippy out (or up) articulated LCDs on their higher end bodies for years. Now it looks like they may have listened. This patent from Canon Japan shows a new rear screen design that looks quite intriguing. As well as the size of the screen, it also shows new mechanisms to attach it to different types of camera body. One thing strikes me as a little odd, though....

Canon To Use Sony Sensor In Upcoming Interchangeable Lens Aps C Camera

Well, this is interesting, if it turns out to be true. Canon Rumors says they’ve received a report that an upcoming Canon APS-C interchangeable lens camera is going to contain a Sony sensor. Specifically the Sony IMX571, a 26MP APS sized sensor destined for DSLRs – although it could go in a mirrorless, too.
