They involve readily available items, and some of them even involve relying only on your body and don’t require any props. So, it looks like the rumours were true. DJI are prepping to officially announce the DJI Mavic Air in around 23 hours (at the time of writing). And these leaked photos from Drone DJ offer some suggestion of what may be in store. It kinda looks like a Mavic Pro and a Spark got together and had a baby. But is it really deserving of the Mavic moniker? Drone DJ seem to agree that it resembles the Spark far more than it does the Mavic....

Released in 2014, the DJI Ronin pretty much revolutionised the video production industry. A handheld motorised gimbal for creating smooth and seamless free camera moves with big cameras. Or, mount it to a drone, and shoot from the air with something better than an action camera. Now, DJI have announced it successor, the Ronin 2. It features greater compatibility with other stabilisation systems, more refined setup and balancing, and an even bigger payload capacity....

DJI has announced the new DJI Action 2 action camera, and they seem to have taken a leaf out of Insta360’s book by making it modular – sort of. Technically, they’ve cut the size of the camera in half, having just the lens and sensor on the front and a large OLED that fills the entire rear of the unit. But, you can also plug it into expandable modules magnetically....

U.S. national security and law enforcement agencies have expressed concerns about unauthorized drone use over DOE (Department of Energy) facilities. Fujifilm has now officially announced the new GFX 100S, and it has indeed been released at the $5,999 price tag rumoured earlier this month. Fujifilm has just announced X-A7, the latest model of its X series of mirrorless cameras. It’s a lightweight, compact camera aimed at beginners, priced $700 along with a kit lens. But despite the low price and being an entry-level model, it still has a lot to offer to those who are just starting out. Fujifilm X-A7 features a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor (1.5x crop factor). It offers a native sensitivity range from ISO 200-12800, expandable to ISO 100-51200....

Fujifilm has announced that it will be implementing “a worldwide pricing revision for its photographic films and photographic papers”. Fujifilm says that they’ve been facing the rising cost of film and logistics. They say that they’ve absorbed some of the costs through structural reforms, but can not risk sacrificing the quality of their product, so prices are going up. Given how few films Fujifilm produces these days, it doesn’t seem like much of a surprise that their costs are going up....

When I do macro photography, I do it mostly freehand, outdoors, and when possible, in natural light. I love my Sony A7 and the abundance of affordable macro lenses available for it via adapters.
