Godox Xpro Ii Trigger For Nikon Canon And Sony Appears On Canadian Retailer S Website

The listings popped up on the website of Canadian retailer, Strobepro. There are listings available for the XPro II-N for Nikon, XPro II-C for Canon, and XPro II-S for Sony cameras. Each carries a price tag of CAD$122.95. Oddly, that’s even cheaper than the $129 XPro II-L for Leica that’s been out for seven months. The listings don’t appear to be a mistake or somebody jumping the gun as Strobepro put together an hour-long video going over the features and capabilities of the XPro II trigger, the differences between the XPro II and the original XPro trigger, with parts of the video even having it mounted to a Nikon DSLR....

Here Are The Satisfying Shutter Sounds Of 18 Different Cameras From 35Mm To 8X10 Large Format

With so many cameras offering completely silent electronic shutter these days – which is understandable for things like weddings and events where the noise of shutters can be quite distracting – it’s easy to forget just how satisfying the sounds of some camera shutters can be. It’s also quite interesting how these sounds can take some of us back to our past when we hear certain sounds from cameras we’ve shot and have pleasant memories of....

How 15 Different Artists Shot Self Portraits Using Only Home Lighting

About a zillion years ago (ok, it was February … so same thing basically), I created a self portrait image ( … ok, so it was several images) using ONLY lights from around my house. I wanted an exercise in something outside my current comfort zone and to challenge myself to get back to my photography roots. I did a whole post about it. I encourage you to go and enjoy that blog post before reading this one, but it’s not required… or is it!...

How A Frying Pan Can Help You Take Photos And Videos From Super Low Angles

Grabbing low angle footage and photos is somewhat of a challenge. Even the lowest of tripods have some height to them. Then again, you probably don’t want to put your camera on the sand. Here is one of the cooler ideas ever shared courtesy of Roger Payne at fujifilm-blog. Oh, and it uses a frying pan. Really. Actually once you see this, you will never realize how you lived your life without a frying pan tripod before....

How Avoiding Social Media For A Year Improved This Photographer S Life

Quitting social media, even for a brief time is something that most of us wish we could do. Some of us are lucky enough to be able to get away and completely unplug for a few days here and there. How Has Covid 19 Impacted The Photography Industry

As a photographer, I am bombarded by individuals experiences of how they have been affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. It doesn’t seem to matter where I look it’s everywhere. My Facebook feed is full of questions being asked by a host of photographers, along with the usual questions about what to do when you have lost your ‘Mo-Jo’. Instagram is full of images of times when things were different, old images used to make people look like they are still busy (don’t let them fool you, everyone is in lockdown so photographers are not busy at the moment)....

How High Am I A Tip For Seagoing Drone Pilots

This is a quick tip for drone pilots shooting boats. Rather than looking at the screen on your controller to see what altitude your drone is at, look at the horizon. If you’re photographing boats with a drone it is very important to know how high you are above the wet stuff. Too low and you risk clipping a wave, not high enough and you could run into the boat you’re shooting....

How I Built My Own Diy Wide Angle Macro Lens

The wide-angle paradox As we know, wide angle lenses show a larger field of view and therefore make things appear smaller and appear further away than they are. Which contradicts the concept of macro photography, where we want our subject to be projected onto the sensor at a magnification ratio of at least 1.0x. So how can we combine a wide angle perspective and macro macro-capabilities? The concept of wide-angle macro photography is not exactly new and there are other photographers out there, who built their own super-wide macro lenses....

How I Built This Low Budget Diy Set For My Recent Photography Project

For my latest project, “we are the dead“, I decided to build a room in which to shoot my pictures. I had absolutely no idea how to do this, but there were some facts I needed to consider: With these in mind, I started to do some research. My initial inspiration for such a set came from Eugenio Recuenco‘s set for “365º”. He used a wooden structure that resembles a huge cube, with a small opening on the left side....

How The Dji Mavic Air Stands Up Against The Spark Mavic Pro And Phantom 4 Pro

Well, we knew it wouldn’t be long before the comparisons started coming. And what better excuse than a new drone for another Casey McKinnon collaboration? While much of that collaboration is over on Peter’s channel, He did take time to help Casey out with this pretty decent review of the new DJI Mavic Air which also compares it to the Spark, Mavic Pro, and Phantom 4 Pro. The review begins as many do, by taking a look at what’s in the box....
