The new versions include Adobe Sensei AI-powered features with step-by-step guided edits to help both beginner and advanced users. Elements 2023 also connects with new web and mobile companion apps for editing on the go. French company PIXII SAS first announced their new PIXII camera almost two years ago (literally just a couple of weeks shy), and then it was radio silence until July of this year when it finally went on sale. It’s a Leica M mount digital rangefinder, but with a twist. It looks a lot like the Leica M10-D, but without a memory card slot. Active-wear brand Gymshark has provoked anger after a behind-the-scenes image from a recent photoshoot was leaked on Facebook. The image shows 7 models, all of which are no larger than a US size 4. It has since caused an outcry from women demanding representation of larger body sizes. The behind-the-scenes photo was leaked last week after the brand’s promotional photoshoot in London. Despite obvious efforts towards inclusivity, many commenters felt that Gymshark had fallen short in this aspect....

Australian photographer David Prichard has won first prize in the 2021 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize for his series ‘Tribute to Indigenous Stock Women’, portraits of First Nations women who spent most of their working lives on cattle stations in Far North Queensland. Prichard’s series of portraits of the women depict them sitting or standing alone in a room. These women spent most of their lives in physically hard labour, working with livestock, riding horses and doing a wide range of other homestead chores....

This Valentine’s day, I got a little present from my love, Wacom. It was the brand new Intuos Pro! They refreshed the product line this year so I got a chance to check it out. Surprisingly, I found the update to really tighten up on a lot of areas. I didn’t have to do a review, but I actually felt it should be done since they improved this product in a lot of ways....

It’s been a long time coming, and one of the things that’s put many off buying into Ricoh for their 360° needs. The Theta S was, undoubtedly, a fantastic little 360° camera. But the lowly 1080p resolution was a big deal breaker for many. With other manufacturers coming out with their own 4K 360° cameras, Ricoh needed to catch up quick. British LED lighting manufacturer, Rotolight has unveiled the world’s first electronic ‘SmartSoft™ Box’. It sounds pretty fancy but it’s basically a diffuser attachment for its AEOS 2 LED lights that allows users to vary the degree of diffusion produced by controlling an electric current passing across its surface. According to the press release, the SmartSoft will allow users to electronically adjust diffusion, focus and spread without the need for gels or additional modifiers....

The dual camera system is still relatively new and it’s mainly integrated into high-end phones. However, Samsung will soon enable dual camera features even in cheaper smartphones. The company has introduced ISOCELL Dual image sensors and proprietary software for achieving bokeh effect and low light shooting. Ben K. Hur, vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics, says that ISOCELL Dual will help “to bring the most optimized dual camera features to a wider range of consumers....

Samyang has announced an update to its compact cine lens range with the new VDSLR Mk2 series cine lenses. To start the new series, Samyang has focused on four of the most popular and most used focal lengths at 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm, and each of them has a fast maximum T1.5 aperture. A fifth 14mm T3.1 lens will be added in Q1 2021. The VDSLR line from Samyang was first launched in 2014 and has proven to be quite popular for its balance of quality, price and performance....

Well, this is odd. I stumbled across a leak from over the weekend about the new Samyang AF 24-70mm f/2.8 FE parfocal zoom lens for full-frame Sony E mount cameras and then spotted over on Mirrorless Rumors that it had actually been released… Except, strangely, it seems to have only been released in Thailand, of all places. What makes this particular lens special over other 24-70mm lenses out there is that it’s parfocal....

If you’re a Fujifilm user and customer, pay close attention to emails you get from the company. People have received spam emails that claim to be from Fuji, even using the brand’s domain in the email address. It looks like they’ve reached so many people that Fujifilm Japan issued an official warning to its customers. Fuji Rumors Google translated the official warning from the Japanese website. It states that the content of the email warns the recipient that an illegal product order has been made on a “major e-commerce site....

Job scams targeting photographers seem to be more common than ever, and there has been a new one going around lately. If you use Indeed.com to find photography gigs, this one might hit you, so pay close attention. Reddit user paraworldblue recently shared their experience, saying that they got a few of these scam emails so far: three of them in the same day. Some of them sounded fairly believable, so they even got fooled for a moment....

After that creepily gorgeous ginormous jellyfish, researchers of MBARI (Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute) have caught on camera another incredible underwater creature. A barreleye fish is a fish with an entirely translucent head. And even more than that jellyfish, it scares me and amazes me at the same time. During a dive with our education and outreach partner, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the MBARI team came across this barreleye fish (Macropinna microstoma)....
