Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, has his first photography book issued tomorrow. The 18-year-old (amateur) photographer hasn’t even signed the first copy yet, and the critics are already bashing him, the book and his work. The book titled “What I See” will be released by Penguin Random House UK. And while the critics, professional photographers and one part of the public seem pretty furious about it, the publisher and Brooklyn’s fans try to defend him....

It looks like being added to yet another blacklist isn’t deterring DJI from working in the USA. As DroneDJ reports, a new paper filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) presents a new drone that will be joining their Mavic 3 product line. It’s called the Mavic 3 Classic and as the name suggests, seems to be reminiscent of, well, the older Mavic models. They’ve filed for a Class II permissive change with the FCC which essentially means it will have modifications to the Mavic 3 to dumb it down a little from its original filing....
It’s being rumoured that DJI is getting ready to announce the Mavic 3 drone in January 2020. Drone DJ reports that they’ve received several rumours that all seem to back each other up in the last week or so. They also say that the recently reported Mavic Mini may be officially announced as soon as the end of this month. One of the biggest DJI leakers, OsitaLV has posted a rough drawing of what he suggests is the Mavic 3....

In fact, many of them do everything they can to keep their precious babies dry – even if many of them are far better weather-sealed than their owners realise. This was a curious video to see pop up on my feed last night from Mike Smith. In it, he talks about the marketing hype surrounding most new camera releases and what the camera companies aren’t telling you – basically, that the gear you already own is probably already more than good enough or at least 90% of you. This might be one of the most nutty DIY projects I’ve seen. But that could be because it’s based on one of the craziest concepts I’ve seen. At CES, Razer unviled Project Valerie, a laptop that contained 3 monitors. Unfortunately, Razer say that at the moment, it’s basically a concept, and there’s just a couple of working prototypes. They’ve no idea where those working prototypes are right now, though, as they were apparently stolen....
Dorothea Lange’s photo Migrant Mother is one of the most famous photos of the 20th century. If you’ve always wanted to have a print of it, now you can as there’s one on an auction. And it’s not just any print – it was originally part of Dorothea Lange’s family collection. Not surprisingly, it’s expected to sell for up to $70,000. Lange took the photo in Nipomo, California in 1936....
Facebook’s always at the centre of some privacy controversy or other these days. Programmer Edin Jusupovic, spotted something rather odd recently when looking at a hex dump of an image file of unknown origin. After doing a little investigation, it appears to be IPTC “Special Instructions” injected into the image by Facebook. This header is then kept with the file, as it gets downloaded and reposted around the web. This data seems to have been around since at least 2015, but it seems to have largely gone unnoticed....
Advertisements The glasses named Ray-Ban Stories allow users to shoot photos and videos with two 5MP cameras and upload them to a new Facebook-made app, View. You can also listen to music and make phone calls, but let’s stick with the cameras. So, what seems to be the problem? Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC) and the Italian Data Protection Regulator, the Garante, both raised concerns over the cameras. DPC asked Facebook to demonstrate that an LED indicator light is an effective way of giving notice to people when the wearer is filming them....
If you happen to be locked out of your Facebook account, you may soon need to upload a selfie to prove your identity and be able to log back in. As a matter of fact, it seems that Facebook has already started implementing this captcha. In case they notice suspicious activity on your account, you will be asked to “upload a photo of yourself that clearly shows your face.” After it’s verified, you will be allowed to log back in....
Midnight Rider was to be a biographical movie on the journey of Gregg Allman. From struggling artist to the eventual success of the Allman Brothers Band. Then the realisation that he needs to get clean or risk losing his life. It was tragically ironic, then, that filming for this movie actually did cause somebody to lose their life. On February 20th, 2014, 27 year old camera assistant, Sarah Jones, was hit and killed by a train while filming on tracks....
Researches have shown that social media can have a negative impact on mental health, especially in teenagers. Over the recent weeks, Instagram influencers and famous models like Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber are sending their own message against social media. Their approach is pretty unusual, but effective: they share photos with a phone case in the frame, with a warning reading “Social media seriously harms your mental health.” The phone case is designed to resemble those warning labels we see on cigarette packs....
It looks like the entertainment and fashion industry will remember 2017 by numerous accusations of sexual harassment. After Terry Richardson, fashion photographer Bruce Weber has joined the group of the alleged sexual offenders. As The New York Post reports, model Jason Boyce has sued Weber for sexual harassment that he claims occurred in December 2014. Boyce was 28 at the time, while Weber was 68. Reportedly, the lawsuit reads that Weber closed the door to the studio when Boyce arrived at the shoot, and after taking some shots, Weber noticed that Boyce was “very tense” and rubbed oil onto his forehead....
It appears the first full images of the actual 5D Mark IV body have been leaked. There’s a couple of visual changes between it and its predecessor. The most obvious being that the “Mark XX” badge has been moved. This has allowed Canon to move the shutter release cable socket around to the front. The eagle eyed amongst you may also spot that the microphone grill seems to have disappeared....
The Panasonic Lumix GX9 was announced in February and was originally expected to ship in March, but according to retailers, it’s still only available for pre-order. We got to check one out in person recently, though, during The Photography Show. We also chatted a little about the new Panasonic Lumix GH5S and how it differs from its older sibling, the Lumix GH5. Panasonic has always produced some pretty impressive cameras....
