It looks like Huawei didn’t learn anything from their previous mistakes when it comes to deceptive marketing. In the latest advertisement for Nova 3 smartphone, the company has once again passed off a DSLR photo as a photo taken by a smartphone camera. And once again, they got busted. The ad was published by Huawei Mobile Egypt and it shows a couple taking selfies on several occasions. At one point, the man wants to take a selfie with the woman, and she doesn’t seem up for it as she hasn’t finished putting the makeup on (notice the annoying stereotype here)....

Even though James Webb Space Telescope has stolen the spotlight since its first photos were released, we mustn’t forget that Hubble’s still alive and kickin’… and taking wonderful photos. Last week, NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope captured a pair of galaxies interacting. Warping each other through gravitation, they appear as if they’re dancing up there in the vastness of the universe. The two galaxies make up a pair known as Arp-Madore 608-333....

As a professional landscape photographer, switching to a mirrorless camera system is something I have been contemplating for some time, although I have been hesitant given the weaknesses of early camera models. Bad weather sealing, poor cold-weather performance and general unreliability were some of the factors that made me decide to wait. Despite rumours that Canon is planning to kill off their APS-C EOS M mirrorless camera product line, the impending release of the Canon EOS M50 Mark II has been confirmed according to Nokishita, who tweeted a few days ago that it’s been added to Canon’s latest product list. There have been rumours about an M50 Mark II for a little while now, but so far we hadn’t seen any solid specs....

Instagram has recently announced several new features to the platform including integration with other popular apps such as GoPro and Spotify. In the coming weeks, it also says it will be rolling out its own video chat, new camera effects, and a more streamlined Explore. We’ve seen some cool updates on Stories in the past few weeks including the Focus Mode (Instagram’s answer to iPhone’s Portrait Mode), but it seems that the avalanche of new features hasn’t stopped there....

Earlier this year, we told you about a new social media app BeReal, nicknamed “anti-Instagram.” Its popularity has been increasing and it recently hit the #1 spot among Apple Store’s free apps. We first discovered the Irix 45mm f/1.4 way back at Photokina 2016. It was just a lowly prototype hidden under a glass box back then. It seemed to have been largely ignored by most people wandering past the Irix booth at the show, but we took the time to have a chat with them about it. It’s been a bit of a wait since then, and it’s had at least one complete redesign since the prototype we saw, but it’s finally here....

Two months ago, a leaked code revealed that Instagram might add voice and video calls to the app. But now it’s official: Instagram is getting video calls in the weeks to come. The video chat, along with a few other improvements, will make Instagram a step closer to becoming “all-in-one” app. According to the official announcement, Instagram has decided to add video chat after hearing the users’ feedback and requests....

NASA’s Perseverance rover made a successful landing on Mars on 18 February, and new photos keep coming in. After the first-ever photo and its color version, you can now watch the rover’s descent and the touchdown in the dramatic video. The footage you see above was captured by several cameras on the rover. In the video description, NASA explains what it is that we see in it: As for the audio, it comes from the mission control call-outs during entry, descent, and landing stages....

Tamron is preparing to announce a new walkaround superzoom lens, according to the latest photos leak from Nokishita. According to the images, the upcoming lens is the Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD. Other than the photos, there isn’t really much other information to go on.
