Huawei Passes Off Dslr Photos As Smartphone Camera Photos Again

It looks like Huawei didn’t learn anything from their previous mistakes when it comes to deceptive marketing. In the latest advertisement for Nova 3 smartphone, the company has once again passed off a DSLR photo as a photo taken by a smartphone camera. And once again, they got busted. The ad was published by Huawei Mobile Egypt and it shows a couple taking selfies on several occasions. At one point, the man wants to take a selfie with the woman, and she doesn’t seem up for it as she hasn’t finished putting the makeup on (notice the annoying stereotype here)....

Hubble Captures Stunning Photo Of Two Galaxies Dancing

Even though James Webb Space Telescope has stolen the spotlight since its first photos were released, we mustn’t forget that Hubble’s still alive and kickin’… and taking wonderful photos. Last week, NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope captured a pair of galaxies interacting. Warping each other through gravitation, they appear as if they’re dancing up there in the vastness of the universe. The two galaxies make up a pair known as Arp-Madore 608-333....

I Shed Almost Five Pounds From My Camera Bag By Switching To Mirrorless

As a professional landscape photographer, switching to a mirrorless camera system is something I have been contemplating for some time, although I have been hesitant given the weaknesses of early camera models. Bad weather sealing, poor cold-weather performance and general unreliability were some of the factors that made me decide to wait. But today, it seems as though the industry has finally worked out many of the bugs, to the point where the mirrorless full-frame camera models are just as good, if not better, than your favourite DSLR....

I Turned A 610Mm World War Ii Spy Lens Into A 10Ft Long Large Format Macro Camera

You didn’t ask to learn about bellows extension factors but we’re going to cover it with the most absurd camera that you may ever see! Built from over two sheets of plywood, scraps of 2x6s, old drywall screws, and the cheapest 610mm lens that I could find on eBay, literally every expense was spared. I would be surprised if I spent more than $200 out of pocket to create this 10′ behemoth....

If You Have A Giant Phone And Shoot On Location You Need The Cosyspeed Phoneslinger

The evolution of mobile phones has been an interesting journey to follow. They started off as huge bricks of things and manufacturers were all trying to make them as small as possible for years. Then, all of a sudden, phones got “smart”, and now they seem to get bigger and bigger again every year. This “growth” can be a pain for photographers who work on location. Giant phones are annoying in your pocket all day, scrambling around in the wilderness digging into your leg....

Irix Has Finally Announced The 45Mm F 1 4 They First Showed Off In 2016

We first discovered the Irix 45mm f/1.4 way back at Photokina 2016. It was just a lowly prototype hidden under a glass box back then. It seemed to have been largely ignored by most people wandering past the Irix booth at the show, but we took the time to have a chat with them about it. It’s been a bit of a wait since then, and it’s had at least one complete redesign since the prototype we saw, but it’s finally here....

Is 645 Medium Format Film Really Better Than 35Mm Well Yeah It Is

I still shoot quite a bit of film when the opportunity allows, and when I do, I still primarily tend to reach for a 35mm. It’s not that it’s the best, or even just the best suited to what I want to shoot, but it’s convenient. The 35mm film SLRs I use the most are all Nikon F mount bodies, letting me use most of the lenses I also own for my DSLRs....
