Not long ago, Tamron teased four new lenses for Sony FE, but without giving us too much detail of what exactly to expect. But now we have more information about the upcoming lenses: three new primes and one zoom are on the way. According to Sony Alpha Rumors, Tamron is launching the following lenses for Sony FE: 70-180mm f/2.820mm f/2.824mm f/2.835mm f/2.8 All four lenses will reportedly be relatively compact in size, are still have excellent image quality....

Fujifilm has announced the latest addition to its instant camera family. The Fujifilm Instax Square SQ20 is coming to replace the Instax Square SQ10, which was released last year. Just like its predecessor, it’s an analog-digital hybrid. But along with other improvements, it packs an interesting innovation for an instant camera: video shooting. The Fujifilm Instax Square SQ20 has a dial on the back of the camera that lets you shoot a video of up to 15 seconds....

According to pttl.gr, Fujifilm has leaked themselves, posting all of the upcoming Instax Mini 40 on the Instax website site a little early. Expected to be announced on April 7th, it looks like somebody was a little too eager with that publish button. The content has been removed from the Instax website now, although screenshots were captured by the folks at pttl. Fujifilm has been teasing the camera on Instagram for a few days now, although there’s no word on a price yet....

Back in August, Nikon introduced its Webcam Utility software that lets you use your DSLR or mirrorless as a fancy web camera. It was in beta and for Windows only, but the full version is now here. And yes, you can use it on both Windows and Mac. Just in time for the second round of lockdowns. If you’ve already tried the beta version on Windows, I guess you know how it works....

Google introduced the astrophotography mode in its Pixel 4 phone launched last year. The same feature was added to Pixel 5 and 4a a year later. However, Google has quietly removed the feature from these phones’ ultra-wide camera. No one knows why, but the assumption is that it just performed poorly. The biggest change in Pixel 5 and 4a compared to the Pixel 4 is the rear camera that offers a 107° field of view....

Google has revealed its own text-to-video AI-generated program which is called Imagen video. Similar to Meta’s Make-a-video, the program allows users to generate a short video clip purely by entering descriptive text. It’s very similar to text-to-image apps such as Dall-E and Midjourney, however this time the end product is moving pictures. Of course, this isn’t the first iteration of text-to-video, and neither was Meta’s for that matter. A few couple of months ago DIYP reported that it would be the next big AI visual progression, and in typical AI nature, that progress has reached us at an insanely rapid rate....

Since Photoshop handled that challenge so well I, started wondering if the same “sky replacement” feature will work the same with a night photo. With light painting, the options for creating artwork are virtually endless. But have you ever considered adding Polaroid to the equation? Here is an interesting question. If a $50 Handycam can be compared to $50,000 RED, why not pitch a Panasonic GH5 against a GoPro? Youtuber biscuitsalive did just that and has some interesting feedback on the resulting footage. While the GoPro will probably work in a pinch, biscuits lists three main areas where the GoPro can improve. I agree with about 99.9% with what he says, this is by no means a pixel peeping review, just a general outline to align expectations....

I have always wanted one to at least try out some lightpainting with it. The Pixelstick is a 188cm RGB lightstrip on a stick that plays bitmap files. It weighs 1,6kg, has a nice display to select files, has a remote release and runs on 8 AA batteries....

Back in December my brother asked me if I would be interested in going to Comic Con in Indianapolis, IN, and I immediately said absolutely! In his mind, he was excited to see what comic books he could find or the hard to find vinyl POP figure or possibly a GI Joe collectible, but in my mind I knew I was going there to photograph people in their costumes.
