He later realized that he captured an engagement of an unknown couple....

While visiting the Antonio Canova Museum in Possagno, Italy, a tourist managed to damage a 19th-century statue because – as you could probably guess – he posed for a photo. The man thought it would be awesome to lie next to the statue and have his photo taken. And when he did so, he broke off three of the statue’s toes. The incident took place earlier this month when a group of tourists from Austria visited the Antonio Canova Museum....

From 20 February 2018, the U.S. Copyright Office is implementing new rules that affect the way groups of photos are registered. So, if you register your images with the Copyright Office, there are six changes you need to be aware of. According to Copyright Alliance, the aim of the new rule is to “modernize and streamline the registration process for group registrations of photographs.” Also, it implements “other important changes....

Starting from 2018, drone laws in the UK could become a lot stricter. The new draft legislation proposes that all drones weighing over 250g are banned from flying near airports or above 400ft altitude. Additionally, the users may be required to take a safety awareness test if they want to operate their drone. As BBC reports, the new proposals are a response to a growing number of incidents involving airplanes and drones....

In a database recently discovered online, there was a vast number of private data of various Instagram influencers, celebrities, and brands. There were nearly 50 million people affected, and the database contained even their private data, including phone numbers and email addresses. The leaked data contained public information, such as the account owner’s bio, profile picture, number of followers, if they’re verified, and their location by city and country. However, as previously mentioned, there were also phone numbers and email addresses, which are private data....

One of my favorite ways to create more interesting photos is to get closer to the subject and fill the frame, eliminating or reducing background distractions. Often, I am unable to get as close as I would like to the subject due to the minimum focusing distance limit of the lens. Yesterday Flickr made their first big restructuring announcement since recently being purchased by SmugMug. Beginning next year on January 8th, Flickr will limit free accounts to 1,000 photos. The previously offered free 1 terabyte of storage goes away. At the same time Flickr is returning their paid pro account to unlimited storage which had been their original offer before capping new Pro accounts at 1 terabyte back in 2013. If you were Pro before 2013 you were considered “old school” Pro and kept your unlimited storage, but new accounts were limited....

Wildlife filmmakers and photographers sometimes have scary close encounters with wild animals. This is exactly what recently happened to Kim Wolhuter. While he was exploring around a huge baobab tree, he came face to face with a leopard. He had it all on camera, and it made my heart pound harder just watching the video!
