Canon Shows Commitment To Supporting Dslrs With A New Firmware Update For The Eos 1Dx Mark Iii

It might be full steam ahead with mirrorless for much of the world’s population, but Canon hasn’t entirely abandoned their DSLRs yet. This has been proven by the release of a firmware update for the Canon EOS 1DX Mark III. Don’t get too excited, though, it’s not bringing any new functionality. It’s merely fixing a few bugs. But the fact that they’re releasing it all offers some hope for Canon DSLR shooters....

Couple Stages Wedding For Reshoot Because Their Wedding Photographer Used Stock Photos In Her Portfolio

I have warned people multiple times to do their research before hiring a wedding photographer. However, it seems that sometimes even that isn’t enough. A UK couple reportedly hired a photographer based on her portfolio only to discover that she had used stock photos in it. Their wedding photos apparently turned out so awful, that they had to restage the wedding for another shoot. Lin and Brendan Lavery from Devon, UK, chose their wedding photographer based on the photos on her website and social media page....

Cross Processing Agfa Precisa Slide Film In Negative Film Chemicals

I’ve been wanting to try this experience for a long time now and finally got the opportunity to shoot a roll of expired Agfa Precisa CT 100 then got it crossed-processed in C-41 chemistry by my lab Nation Photo. Precisa is probably one of the least known slide films that exists (at least it was to me) and I honestly had no idea how it would perform, knowing that it expired somewhere in 2005....

David Alan Harvey Resigns From Magnum After Sexual Misconduct Allegations

After sexual misconduct allegations against David Alan Harvey, he resigned from Magnum Photos. Last year, FStoppers shared a story of alleged child sexual abuse in some of Harvey’s images selling on Magnum’s website. His resignation allegedly has nothing to do with this, but it started an avalanche. Shortly after this story, photojournalist Amanda Mustard turned to Twitter and shared sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey....

Experimenting With Photogrammetry At Home

This is going to be a long one… Photogrammetry is my hobby for the last couple of years. My first try was a small wooden Piggy from four or five years ago. That was done with a mobile phone (Nexus 4) without any knowledge of proper lighting, manual control of the camera, balancing photos, etc. The scanned result was pretty bad, but I learned a lot from it. After that, I bought a Canon EOS700D with kit lens and started to learn more about the proper way to take photos, how to correct them and how to work on the scanned geometry....
