Only this time, he’s building a massive 24K resolution 360° waterproof camera rig in order to shoot it. A few days ago, NASA’s Orion spacecraft successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean. This means that, after 25 days, the first mission of the Artemis I program came to an end. Over the course of nearly a month, Orion treated us with some spectacular and detailed shots of the Moon’s surface. And in a recent video shared by ESA (European Space Agency), you can see the recap of the 25-day trip in only 60 seconds....

When SYRP first introduced the Genie in 2012, we did not quite know how to swallow this new animal. In 2018, Sudan, the last remaining northern white rhino passed away of natural causes at the Ol Pejeta conservancy in Laikipia County, Kenya thus ending the existence of their subspecies. Not far from Sudan’s grave lives Fatu and Najin (mother and daughter), the last known living northern white rhinos on the planet. A loss of habitat and poaching of their valuable horns to be sold off in the black market for traditional eastern medicinal purposes bound for countries such as China, South Korea, and Vietnam has led to the demise of their species....

Tokina has announced its new atx-i 11-20mm f/2.8 CF lens for Nikon and Canon APS-C DSLRs. As an APS-C lens, it offers a full-frame field of view equivalent to roughly that of 18-32mm on Canon and 17-30mm on Nikon and it features a fixed maximum f/2.8 aperture throughout its range. Tokina says that despite being built for Nikon F and Canon EF, the new lens should have no problem on Nikon or Canon mirrorless bodies using the FTZ and EF-EOS-M adapters for those respective bodies....

Last year, British tech firm, Nanoco announced a partnership with a “large, undisclosed U.S. listed corporation” worth £17.1 million ($21.7 million). The Telegraph now reports that this undisclosed company is none other than Apple. They say that Apple contracted Nanoco to develop quantum dot (QD) technology for the next generation of high tech iPhone camera sensors. They now also say that Apple has pulled the plug on the project, causing Nanoco to lost almost 80% of its share price....

In a statement posted to their website, New Jersey-based lighting company, DynaLite, founded in 1970 has closed its doors and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. They say that they find it “difficult to remain competitive” and have decided to close the company. Unlike when Bowens filed for bankruptcy, DynaLite isn’t blaming the innovations by its competitors for its downfall, instead placing the blame squarely at the feet of “the current decline in the photography market”....

Canon China has introduced a creepy technology for “brightening up workspace.” The company’s offices are equipped with AI-powered cameras with face and smile recognition. But they don’t only recognize the person behind a lovely smile – they reportedly only let them access the offices if they’re smiling. Canon Information Technology in China announced the Smart Workspace Solution last year. The company writes that it’s intended for “keeping up with the demands of the new normal....

Limiting yourself can boost your creativity, but how many limitations can a photographer handle? Well, Jessica Kobeissi teamed up with Vuhlandes to try and answer this question. In this ridiculously fun challenge, the duo took photos on a $10 children’s camera. It doesn’t have AF or optical zoom, it doesn’t let you change lenses, it doesn’t have a touchscreen… So, let’s see if pro photographers can do anything with this children’s toy that happens to shoot photos....

Lighting human subjects can be pretty tricky sometimes, especially when you’re used to photographing people of one gender and you try to photograph somebody of another. You’d think they’d all be lit the same, but that’s not the case, as wedding, portrait and fashion photographer Jerry Ghionis demonstrates in this video. Well, this isn’t something you hear every day. According to reports, Texas wedding photographer, Katie Mehta was arrested during a wedding the Springs Event Venue in Weatherford, TX over the weekend. Her crime? Apparently, having sex with a guest, peeing on a tree and threatening police officers. Visual artist and designer Lukas Renlund has created an exhibition that makes you explore art in quite an unordinary way – by using your smartphone. He wanted to explore the possibility of the internet and physical space converging, so he created a photo exhibition without a single photo. He creates moving images (motion photography), so he was wondering how he could display his work in a gallery....
