Ahead of Adobe MAX 2021, Adobe is announcing a bunch of new stuff across the CC ecosystem. One of the most interesting ones for sure is that you’ll soon be able to use Photoshop and Illustrators through your browser, too.

The company decided to make this step considering how many of us has been forced into working remotely over the last two years. Therefore, you’ll soon have a few options that let you collaborate with your fellow creatives, no matter where you are.

First of all, Illustrator and Photoshop are getting web-based versions, both is still in beta though. This will help you share creative work from the Illustrator and Photoshop desktop and iPad apps online. Your collaborators can open and view your work in the browser and provide feedback. However, note that you’ll also be able to make basic edits without having to download or launch the apps on your computer or iPad. Another novelty, also in beta, is Creative Cloud Spaces. This is a shared place for you and your team to access and organize files, libraries, and links in a centralized location. I’d say that’s pretty much like Trello or Google Drive… Only you don’t have to move your stuff away from Adobe Cloud, you’ve got it all there so it’s a bit more convenient. Creative Cloud Canvas is the third web-based feature, also in beta for now. This is the place where you and your team can display and visualize creative work to review with collaborators and explore ideas together, all in real-time and in the browser. As I don’t really collaborate much with other photographers, I personally find Photoshop for the web the most interesting feature that I can’t wait to try. From what I could see, the web version of photoshop will allow you to add shapes, text, doodles; make selections, crop your images, clone out imperfections. It will only allow “basic edits,” so it won’t be a “Photoshop clone” like Photopea. However, it will probably become better and get more features with time, like Photoshop for iPad did. Either way, we’ll test it soon and let you know our impressions.
