Today, Adobe quietly launched an update to its Photoshop Mix and Fix iOS apps. Along with the updates come a collection of new features and tools to help streamline mobile photography workflows.Advertisements One of the biggest issues with a mobile workflow is the lack of usable storage. To help combat this, Adobe has updated both its Fix and Mix apps so the apps will intelligently manage the amount of space projects take up on a device. This new feature will especially be useful for anyone with 16GB devices. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Adobe has also removed the limitation that only allowed you to import images from Lightroom that were 2000×2000 pixels in resolution. Now, full-resolution images can be imported into Mix and Fix for projects. One of the more subtle, but interesting features of the updates is a new setting they call ‘show touches.’ This will make it so dots appear wherever your finger touches the screen, a component that will come in handy when people create and share tutorial videos on devices. Both apps will also handle metadata better and preserve the information throughout the entire process, from import to export. Apart from the mutual feature updates, each app also received its own set of updated features. Most notably, Adobe Mix will now have better Adobe Stock integration and improved masking function, which should allow for more pixel-perfect mask edges. Adobe Fix on the other hand gains better transparency support for times when you’re using an imported image without a background. Additionally the vignette tool will now intelligently detect if a face is present in the image and create the vignette around the shape of the subject’s face. Overall, the updates seem to bring along a collection of new tools across the board that should make editing on-the-go much easier and efficient.
