We’ve met a camera that lets you take photos in virtual reality, but there’s now an app that took things a step further. Augmented Reality Photo Studio lets you go to real-life locations and shoot virtual portraits. It’s certainly an interesting concept and it can be great for location scouting and trying out lighting setups.

In the videos below, you can see the presentations of the app. Bear in mind though that there are some girls in bikinis, so you might not want to watch it at work.

The app was created by Los Angeles-based company Superba AR. When you get to the location, you can choose a virtual model from the app. Point your phone or camera at the spot and place the model into the scene. You can choose different poses, lighting setups, or even change sun direction or weather conditions. You can apply color corrections in real time; add props or even entire sets. When everything looks just as you like it, you can snap a virtual photo in the real-world setting. Each model is based on a real person, and there are both male and female models. The outfits are a bit too revealing if you ask me, but you can buy additional outfits and models for $1 each. The app itself costs $10, and you can get it for iPhone, iPad, and Android.
