When you think of Best Buy, photography lessons are probably not what first comes to mind. But, the chain now offers photography workshops in 80 of their stores across the US. If you’re into beginner classes, you can attend them for free. The intermediate-level lessons are paid, but they’re pretty affordable and only cost $50.

Best Buy’s photography workshops are offered in its new Camera Experience Shop. The project is sponsored by major camera brands, including Nikon, Canon, Sony, and GoPro. In these workshops, you’ll learn the basic photography techniques. I browsed through beginner workshops, and there’s a different topic each month: back to school photography, concert photography, Halloween photography and holiday cards photography.

As for the intermediate workshops, they are paid $50. Still, for this price you get the lessons, the bus you’ll take from Best Buy to the place where you’ll take photos, a lunch, and a snack. These intermediate workshops are currently available in Atlanta, Houston, New York, San Diego, Tampa, Seattle, and Minneapolis, as The Verge writes. Best Buy writes that in their team will “feature the latest tech and show you how to get the most out of your devices.” Keep in mind though that the class sizes are limited, so if you’re interested, go and sign up on time.
