If you’ve been looking forward to 2021 to start attending trade shows again, we’ve got some bad news. CP+, the largest trade show in Japan, will be held online only. Looks like the pandemic is already extending into the next year.
CP+2021 was supposed to take place at both PACIFICO Yokohama convention center and online between 24 and 28 February 2021. However, the number of COVID-19 infection cases has been on the increase again, so the organizers have decided to move the event completely online.
“As you know, many events have recently been successfully held in an online format, and we will ensure that CP+2021 ONLINE can be participated in by the maximum number of exhibitors,” the organizers write. “We will thus hold the international camera & photo imaging show online to introduce the camera & photo imaging industries and photo imaging culture from Japan to the world.” As you may already know, CES 2021 has also been moved from live to online due to the pandemic. The Photography Show in Birmingham was moved from March to September 2021, and Photokina was shut down indefinitely. So while all of us can’t wait for 2020, it’s pretty gloomy to think that 2021 will be pretty much the same. Still, it’s a good thing that we have the internet, right? If you’d like to attend CP+, you can do so from wherever you are. The virtual trade show will take place from Thursday, 25 February till Sunday, 28 February 2021. You can find more information on the CP+ website. [via PetaPixel]
