Zeiss Japan have announced that production of the following Zeiss Classic SLR lenses has ceased. Specitically that means the Zeiss Distagon T* 15mm f/2.8, 18mm f/3.5, 25mm f/2, 28mm f/2, and 35mm f/1.4 as well as the Zeiss API-Sonnar T* 135mm f/2. Their announcement reads (Translated)…

Zeiss replaced their Classic SLR lens series in 2015 with the new line of Milvus lenses, specifically designed for DSLRs. Although some of the discontinued Classic lenses are still for sale, presumably while stocks last.

So, if you wanted a bargain price on a 135mm f/2, it’s currently discounted to almost half price, with $923 off reducing the price to $1,199. The Distagon T* 15mm f/2.8 also sees an $1150 price reduction, dropping to $1,799. I wouldn’t sit on the fence too long, though. At these prices, I imagine they won’t last too long. [via Photorumors]
