Fujifilm has just expanded its line-up of medium format lenses. The Fujinon GF 30mm f/3.5 R WR is a wide-angle prime designed for the G-mount GFX medium format camera system, and it’s a pretty compact and versatile lens.

The Fujinon GF 30mm f/3.5 R WR offers a 24mm equivalent focal length, which makes it a pretty versatile lens even though it’s a prime. The lens packs 13 elements in ten groups with two extra-low dispersion elements which reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing. It also incorporates two aspherical elements for distortion and spherical aberrations control. It has a rounded nine-blade diaphragm for smooth and soft bokeh.

It’s a relatively compact lens, with 3.31 x 3.91″ (84 x 99.4 mm) in size and 1.12 lb (510 g) in weight. It’s also dust- and weather-sealed, so you can work with it in harsh conditions and temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C). Here are the specs and some more photos: The Fujinon GF 30mm f/3.5 R WR is now ready for preorders and priced at $1,699.95. Shipping is expected to begin at the end of July 2020.
