You can change the color of anything in Photoshop. In this short and simple video tutorial, Jesús Ramirez of Photoshop Training Channel will teach you how to change the color of the eyes. The method is simple, it doesn’t take much time, yet you can get very realistic results.
Start by creating a group that will contain all the modifications you make. Now make a selection around the iris of the eye using an Elliptical Marquee Tool. Since you don’t want the eyelid in the selection, Hold Alt/Option + Shift and create another selection over the eye that intersects the eyelid. This will remove the eyelid from the selection and you’ll only apply the changes to the eye.
Now that you’ve made the selection, add a layer mask to it. Hold Alt/Option and click on the layer mask thumbnail to see the mask. Drag the Feather slider to the right to make the edges softer, which will give you a more natural result. Again, hold Alt/Option and click on the layer mask thumbnail to bring the image back. Next, add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Make sure it’s in the group so it only affects the selection. Adjust the hue and saturation sliders to achieve the color you like. Then add a Levels adjustment layer to adjust the brightness and contrast of the iris. Some people have a little bit of brown close to the pupil. If you want to add this, create another Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Set the sliders to get the brown color and then invert the layer mask by clicking Ctrl + I. Grab a Brush tool, set the foreground color to white, and paint in a little bit of brown around the pupil. And there you have it.
