Solid stands, especially ones on wheels, that you can mount cameras, lights, monitors to and whatever else you want to attach aren’t that cheap. Even if you have a go at designing and building your own from scratch, they can still work out to be fairly expensive. But if you need a mobile camera, light and monitor stand, there is a less expensive option. And this one comes with a little storage space, too! YouTuber DIY Tech House recently posted a video on building such a stand on wheels based on a cheap clothing rack. A clothing rack that’s adjustable in both height and width, allowing you to resize it to your needs. Although, I probably wouldn’t go too wide with a big heavy monitor on there.

It’s a pretty simple and straightforward conversion that mostly consists of bolting cushioned pipe clamps to various horizontal and vertical bars on the rack depending on what you want to attach and where you want to attach it. You might want to fashion a couple of plates to attach your camera and other bits to those clamps, and attaching the screen will also require some kind of bar to mount it to and then, in turn, mount to the rack, but it’s not rocket surgery.

It looks like a great little solution for a studio where you’re regularly shooting behind the scenes videos for social media in the studio, or if you’re a YouTuber who wants a contained little rig. Wheel it out when needed and then wheel it back out of the way when you’re done.
