Being a professional photographer certainly requires some skills beyond photography. But this Craigslist ad for a family photographer certainly adds another layer to it. Other than photographing for social media, editing photos and probably posting them too, this family also looks for someone to be a “Mother’s Helper.”

The ad was posted on Craigslist, looking for a photographer in New York. He or she would work as the family’s Social Media Coordinator, either full-time or part-time. Applicants are required to be experienced in photography (apparently), specifically family and children photography, but also fashion (?). They need to be internet and Instagram savvy, and skillful with Photoshop and Lightroom. But other than this, they need to be “comfortable acting as Mother’s Helper on days when not shooting/editing.”

I don’t know what exactly Mother’s Helper refers to. Changing kids’ diapers? Making lunch? Taking the kids to daycare? As Andy of FStoppers notes, hopefully, this doesn’t require experience in supplying, as “Mother’s Little Helper” is a euphemism for valium. Honestly, I’m intrigued by this job posting. If I lived in the area, I would apply just to find out what the “Mother’s Helper” is all about, and how much it’s paid. So, if you’re intrigued as well and looking for a job… Well, let us know if you apply. [via FStoppers; image credits: JesusLeal on Pixabay (modified)]
