The flat style comments of Instagram are soon to be a thing of the past. Users have been asking for this for a long time, but they’re finally here. Threaded comments on your Instagram posts. Facebook added threaded comments back in 2013, making it easier to keep track of conversations. It also increased engagement. The hope now is that it will do the same for Instagram, with their goal to “keep the conversation going“. All I can say, is that it’s about time. It makes it so much easier for your followers to keep track of exactly what everybody is responding to.
Now, when you hit reply underneath any comment, your response will automatically be grouped right underneath it in a thread. As I said, it’s about time, and I can’t wait to start using this. The more “personal touch” of replying directly under a user’s comment is surely going help increase engagement. It also looks a lot better than a random tagged comment in a wall of text. It means your existing followers will come back more, comment more, and make Instagram want to show your images to more people.
