It Took Nearly 80 000 Nasa Photos To Make This Impressive Timelapse Of The Sun

We’ve seen some stunning work from filmmaker Seán Doran before. This time, he made a stunning 4K timelapse video of the sun using available NASA images: nearly 80,000 of them. As a result, he created a video of the sun and its movement and activity over the course of one month, and yes – it’s as amazing as it sounds.

For this project, Seán used exactly 78,846 frames of Ångström-171 data from the Solar Dynamics Observatory. But he didn’t just take them and turn them into the video, of course, He repaired them, processed them, and rescaled them to get the final result

All the images are from August 2014. When lining them up at 60fps, Seán got around 22 minutes of footage. But he slowed it down and ended up with a 44-minute long video.
