Johnsons Photopia have announced through their website and Twitter that they have now gone into administration. There isn’t a lot of information yet about how this came about, or how this may affect staff and future customer support for the brands they represent.
A statement on the Johnsons Photopia website reads…
Tweets to the Johnsons Photopia Twitter account also confirms the news, along with a notice that tweets will no longer be replied to.
Johnsons Photopia represented a number of very well known photography brands in the UK. This list of brands includes Blackrapid, Peli, PermaJet, PocketWizard, Sekonic, Syrp, Westcott and more. Not all of them were exclusive to JP but the amount of brands shows the power that JP had in the industry. As mentioned, there’s no word on how this will affect staff at Johnsons Photopia, nor the service that customers of the represented brands will receive in the future. We’ll keep you posted as we find out more. Update: I’ve been told that this won’t affect Peli customers as they have other distribution networks in the UK and all warranty claims are dealt with directly by Peli themselves.
