Leica has just released a $1,549 camera kit that aims to kick start your street photography. The Leica D-Lux 7 Street Kit is perfect if you’ve always wanted a Leica, but weren’t ready to pay thousands of dollars for a camera body only. Other than the Leica D-Lux 7, you also get a few other items that will pimp your camera and, hopefully, improve the shooting experience.

The heart and soul of this kit is a Leica D-Lux 7, “the Swiss Army knife of Leica compact cameras.” The silver version was introduced back in 2018, whereas the black one arrived two years later. At $1,195 this compact camera still remains the cheapest one in the Leica family. But if you pay ~$350 more, you can get the whole kit, containing: the black version of the Leica D-Lux 7, a handgrip, an auto lens cap, an additional black paracord wrist strap by COOPH, and an extra battery.

As for the camera, it packs a 17 MP Micro Four Thirds sensor and has a built-in 10.9-34mm f/1.7-2.8 Vario-Summilux lens with O.I.S. Leica lists it as a 24-75mm equivalent for whichever reason, but it’s actually 22-68mm. Close enough. There’s an integrated EVF, a 3″ 1.24 million dot touchscreen LCD, fast AF, and 11fps continuous shooting. If you want to shoot video with it, you can, and it goes up to 4K. As for connectivity, there are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities and you can connect the camera with the Leica FOTOS app.

Here are the full specs: The Leica D-Lux 7 Street Kit is available for preorders for $1,549. The kit will only be available for a limited time, although there’s no word for how long. We’ll let you know if we know more.
