Lomography has come up with some interesting products in the past couple of years. The latest addition to their family is the Lomogon 2.5/32 Art lens. It’s a handcrafted 32mm f/2.5 lens aimed particularly at travel and street photographers, but of course, it can be used for many other genres. Aside from reasonable price and compact design, the most interesting feature of this lens is probably its perfectly circular bokeh.

Lomography promises enhanced colors, high contrast and as I’ve mentioned: unique bokeh with the Lomogon 2.5/32 Art. The lens is equipped with dial-styled aperture mechanism that works with Lomography’s signature click-and-stop feeling. This means that you can feel each aperture lock into place as you dial through them. But this mechanism is also responsible for the look of bokeh. It allows perfectly circular apertures, which is impossible to achieve with a blade system, and it covers a range from f/2.5 to f/11.

The lens is carefully crafted and assembled entirely by hand. It’s compatible with analog and digital cameras, and you’ll be able to choose between Nikon F and Canon EF mount when the Kickstarter campaign ends. But, you’ll be able to use them on other cameras as well. Lomography will offer Fuji X, Sony E-mount, Micro 4/3 and other adapters at the end of the campaign starting from $13.

Here are the specs of the Lomogon 2.5/32 Art:

Take a look at some sample photos:

The lens is available for preorders via a Kickstarter campaign. It has nearly hit the $100,000 goal, and the numbers keep spinning as I’m writing this. You can order the Black Aluminum version for $299 and Black Brass version for $330, and there are only a few pieces left of each. After they’re sold out, the prices will get higher, so if you’re interested, go visit Lomography’s Kickstarter page and make a pledge. The campaign will run from 20 February to 22 March 2019, and the estimated delivery date is November 2019.
