Skylum keeps teasing the new features that are coming to Luminar AI. The latest novelty is a new and improved Sky Replacement that is now more accurate than before. Sky Replacement 2.0 now automatically adds water reflections to your landscape photos. Along with some other enhanced details, Luminar AI will now make your composite images more realistic and believable.

Sky replacement was first introduced with Luminar 4 last year. It became so popular that “other companies followed Luminar to introduce their sky replacement tools, too,” Skylum writes. Even though it became an industry standard, there’s always room for improvement. The company relied on users’ feedback when improving the Sky Replacement tool for Luminar AI. Many folks noticed that there’s one missing feature — water reflections. So, Skylum decided to incorporate this in Luminar AI, which is coming in 2021. The new feature will replace the sky but also its reflection in the water, and it won’t require any manual work from you. Other than sky reflections, the AI engine in Luminar AI will also be faster, with more precise details and realistic reflections. You’ll also be able to add water ripples. From what I can see in the demo above, the overall lighting of the image will also be adapted so that it fits the sky you’re adding to your scene, which is immensely important if you want your photo to look believable. Here are some before and after examples: Luminar AI is already up for preorders and it costs for €74 (one seat) and €89 (two seats).
