DxO has just released the Nik Collection 2, the new and improved suite of plugins for Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, and Photoshop Elements. This time last year the first Nik Collection under DxO was released, and the upgraded version brings new presets, but also a few other improvements.

42 new presets
Nik Collection 2 has all the classic presets from the original Nik Collection, plus 40 new effects. Each of the new presets has been created by Dan Hughes of the Rochester Institute of Technology and Nik’s Chief Webinar Trainer. Analog Efex Pro, Color Efex Pro, and Silver Efex Pro include ten new presets each, and HDR Efex Pro includes 12 new presets.
Apply U point local adjustments on raw
Nik Collection’s U Point Control System lets you make to local areas of an image. With Nik Collection 2, you can now make these local adjustments directly on high-quality RAW files before converting your images to JPEG. You can read more about the feature here.
Support for HIDPI displays
HD screens are now supported across all the plugins in the Nik Collection 2. The main windows have all been upscaled to make the most of the extra screen real estate, and images are now displayed in native full resolution.
Advanced optical corrections
Nik Collection 2 lets you apply advanced optical corrections including lack of sharpness, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, and distortion. According to DxO, this features help to reveal every last detail in your RAW files. Back in 2016, Google started giving away the Nik Collection for free. It finally abandoned it in 2017, and DxO soon took over. The Nik Collection 2 is available on DxO’s website for$ 99.99 until 30 June, and after this, it will set you back $ 149. If you wanna test it out first, there’s also a free 30-day trial available. And if you just want to update the previous Nik collection, you will pay $60 ($80 after 30 June).
