Exactly this time last year, photos and specs started leaking for GoPro Hero 10. So, not surprisingly – it looks like the Hero 11 is on its way a year later. The photos have already leaked, showing us the upcoming action camera from all angles. But there are some sweet deals on the new model which indicate that the new one is just around the corner. Since the specs haven’t leaked (at least not yet), we can only rely on the Hero 11’s looks....

Judging from recent reports, we’ll see Nikon’s 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens very soon. But it looks like Nikon isn’t the only company introducing a super-fast lens this year. A few leaked images show NiSi Rumiere APO 75mm f/0.95 FE, a new lens which should also be introduced very soon. NiSi jumped into the lens market not so long ago. Last spring, the company introduced five cine lenses available in three different mounts....

We’ve been waiting for the Leica medium-format S3 for a while now. And it looks like it’s about to elbow its way into what has become a crowded medium-format segment pretty soon. According to Leica Rumors a 64MP Leica S3 medium format camera is just around the corner. and the full specs are available. The camera will come with a Leica 64MP CMOS sensor with a 4.6μm pixel size. According to the report, there will be no low-pass filter for better detail and greater sharpness....

Lexar has joined SanDisk, Sony, ProGrade, Delkin and Wise by releasing a CFexpress memory card reader. Surprisingly, it seems to be the cheapest on the market so far, coming in at a mere $50. It has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C socket, although the supplied cable is Type-C to Type-A (there’s no Type-C to Type-C cable in the box). The reader boasts “Next-Generation Transfer speeds” with a read and write of up to 1,050Mb/sec....

A Hollywood man recently pleaded guilty for recklessly flying a drone and hitting a police helicopter with it. This misdemeanor will land him up to a $250,000 fine, and a maximum of one year in federal prison. The incident took place on 18 September 2020. According to the plea agreement, 22-year-old Andrew Rene Hernandez heard a police siren near his home and a helicopter flying overhead. He was curious about what was going on, so he launched his DJI Mavic Pro Platinum to take a look at the crime scene....

If you live in the US, and have a Sam’s club nearby, you are going to be very happy about this. Sam’s Club are selling a Member’s Mark hard case with foam for $19 in store (or $31 online, if you don’t have a store nearby). True, it’s not the more branded Pelican 1450, then again, it’s about fifth of the cost. According to the listing the case is Shock-proof, waterproof, dust-proof, temperature-resistant and has a pressure-equalization valve for flights....

Law in Florida forbids the police to use drones for surveillance of citizens. However, it seems that Miami Beach police have found a legal loophole. Instead of a drone, they use a miniature blimp with a camera attached to it. The blimp is a helium-filled device with a camera gimbal attached to its underside. It’s called a “tethered aerostat,” and according to Miami New Times, the police department tested it a while ago, and has recently decided to buy it....

Micro Four Thirds shooters have been waiting a long time for this one. This APS-C format lens was initially released way back in 2016 for Fuji X, Sony E and Canon EF-M mounts, but notably lacking was MFT. Well, that’s all changed now, as ZY Optics has launched the Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 Mark II with a Micro Four Thirds mount… In Japan. On a Micro Four Thirds camera, the lens offers a field of view equivalent of a 70mm focal length on a full-frame body, but with a nice wide f/0....

Back in August, we reported that NASA had ordered 53 unmodified Nikon D5 cameras. Some of them were meant to be used in the astronaut training facilities, while the others were intended to go to the International Space Station. And now it’s official: the first set of Nikon D5 cameras is sent to their first space mission. NASA first released Hubble image of Veil Nebula in 2015. And now, six years later, the scientists have revisited it and re-edited it to make it look even more impressive. With a new set of filters applied, the photo now shows a more realistic and more detailed view of the Veil Nebula than before, and it is truly eye candy. Daniel and Rachel from Mango Street have teamed up with photographer Daniel DeArco to introduce you to the basics of studio lighting. Fujifilm has announced Instax Mini 40, a new retro-looking instant camera. While it looks a whole lot different from last year’s Instax Mini 11, the two cameras have a lot in common – but not the price. The Instax Mini 40 truly looks gorgeous if you ask me.
