More photos of the upcoming Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 Pro lens have leaked, along with the complete specs. As expected, the new OM Digital lens will carry the Olympus branding. OM Digital has said that they’ve secured the use of the name for the next few years, but exactly how long that might last is unknown. It’s expected to be announced alongside the Olympus PEN E-P7 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera, for which images were also recently leaked....

Gudsen has today announced the new Moza Mini-S 3-axis motorised gimbal for smartphones. Gudsen says that their goal with the Mini-S is to increase flexibility, compactness and user-friendliness while packing in the features of the other Mini-series gimbal line up. The new Mini-S essentially has three forms. There’s the folded position, and it’s small and compact for travelling. Then the unfolded position, which is the type of thing we’re used to in a phone gimbal....

Due to the social distancing measures, magazine cover photo shoots can’t take place as they normally would. So, supermodel Naomi Campbell and ESSENCE magazine decided to improvise. While isolating at her home, Campbell did her own hair, makeup, and styling. Then she took her iPhone and made some self-portraits for the May/June cover of the magazine. Both the supermodel and the ESSENCE magazine celebrate their 50th birthday this month, so they wanted to collaborate....

The GEOS-16 satellite lifted off in November last year. The satellite contains an Advanced Baseline Imager, which boasts images of earth at four times the resolution of any other satellite. Scientists, meteorologists and regular weather & science enthusiasts around the world have been itching to see those first images. Well, now they’re in and they look amazing. The scientists of Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Germany have developed a new algorithm. It enhances low-res images so that they miraculously become hi-res and sharp. It only needs a single low-resolution input, and it will increase its resolution while retaining the realistic textures and details. According to the paper, the existing algorithms don’t perform the resolution enhancement so well. They tend to produce images that are too smooth and lack realistic textures, so they look unnatural....

The Nikon Z30 has been long-awaited as an entry-level camera in Nikon’s mirrorless lineup. Thanks to the release of the DX-format Nikon Z50, we know that Nikon isn’t afraid of sharing its Z mount between formats. The Z50 essentially replaced the old D5x00 series bodies in Nikon’s DSLR lineup, but what about the D3x00 series? Well, that’s where the hypothetical Z30 would step in. And a new camera registration spotted by Nokishita, suggests that the Nikon Z30 camera announcement may be coming very soon....

Incidents and injuries are pretty much an essential part of contact sports like football. But the thing is – even those outside the field sometimes get hurt. NFL cameraman Don Cornelli recently got a ball straight into his face. Still, he kept his cool and just kept on filming, and it was all caught on camera. Cornelli was filming a football game between the Patriots and the Falcons on Thursday evening....

It’s no secret that RED is very protective of its patents, particularly the one covering the internal recording of compressed raw video. They’ve pursued it pretty relentlessly over the years, stifling the competition and probably setting back camera development by quite a few years. DJI and Kinefinity are rumoured to have removed their internal raw capabilities over RED’s threats. More recently, however, RED’s sights have been aimed towards Nikon. A rare, almost 100-year old Leica is about to set a world record. The Leica 0-Series No. 105 from 1923 will soon be auctioned at Leitz Photographica Auction. It’s super-rare, but also super-special as it belonged to Oskar Barnack himself. So, not surprisingly, it’s estimated to reach up to a whopping $3.3 million! The Leica 0-Series was produced in 1923 in a very limited number. Only 23 of these cameras were produced to test the market, two years before Leica even officially hit the shelves....

Along with the LUMIX GX9, Panasonic has announced another camera today. It’s a compact Panasonic LUMIX ZS200 (or TZ200 outside the U.S.). Its compact 4.4″ wide body holds a 1” 20.1 MP sensor. It features a Leica lens with 15x optical zoom, covering a 24-360mm equivalent focal length range. With its portability and versatile zoom, Panasonic promotes this camera as the ideal travel companion. Panasonic ZS200 is capable of shooting 10 fps with single-shot AF, 6 fps with continuous AF, or 30 fps at 8MP in the 4K Photo burst mode....

While GoPro is still sort of the leader when it comes to action cameras, it’s been a while since they’ve really done anything different. Sure, there’s the now-abandoned (for some reason) GoPro Hero Session, but other than that each generation of regular GoPro Hero has just been an incremental update on the previous one ever since the Hero 5. Of course, there was that whole Karma business but that’s also gone....

Ricoh was supposed to announce its flagship APS-C DSLR, Pentax K-3 Mark III, in just a few days. However, the company has just announced that the camera release will be delayed due to some production issues. This isn’t the first time Ricoh changed plans for the launch of its flagship DSLR. It was initially announced for the end of 2020. But in October 2020, the company announced the launch of Pentax K-3 Mark III for the CP + 2021, which takes place between 25 and 28 February 2021....

The day some of us have anxiously been waiting for is just around the corner. Starting tomorrow, the Perseid meteor shower is about to reach its peak. With up to 100 meteors every hour, it’s the most spectacular meteor shower of the year. But we don’t have too much time to observe it, so get prepared as soon as possible. Photographer Benjamin Von Wong is known for his ambitious projects which often point to serious environmental issues we’re faced with. In his latest project named Strawpocalypse, his models “parted the sea” made of 168,000 used plastic straws. It took a lot of time and effort to build the installation. But it paid off: Ben took some fantastic images which send a message that we can do something to decrease pollution of the sea with plastic....

From time to time, photography could get you in trouble. For Photographer Jesse Walker and model Marisa Papen, the trouble came while they were shooting nudes in an ancient temple in Luxor, Egypt. They tried hiding from the guards to take the shots, but they got busted. As a result, they faced extremely unpleasant situations and spent a night in a jail cell. The Australian photographer shot the photos for Enki Eyewear back in April this year....
