A few months back, there were some hints that Android users may see triple camera setup even in mid-range devices. And with the launch of Samsung Galaxy A7, it looks this is coming true. The A7 is Samsung’s first triple camera phone, and it packs pretty decent photography features into an otherwise average phone.
The Galaxy A7’s rear camera comprises an 8MP 120° ultra-wide lens, a 24MP main camera, and a 5MP “depth” lens for the “bokeh” effect. Samsung promises “crisp clear photos” in different lighting conditions, even in low-light.
The Galaxy A7’s features Samsung’s intelligent Scene Optimizer. This makes the camera categorize your subject and adjusts the color, contrast, and brightness accordingly. The front camera isn’t all bad either. The 24MP camera and adjustable LED flash are aimed at selfie-takers, along with Selfie Focus for bokeh effect and Pro Lighting Mode for “mimicking studio lighting.” As you probably remember, Huawei was the first to launch a triple camera phone, and it’s a pretty expensive one. Apple is planning to launch one too, but not before 2019. And knowing Apple, it won’t be cheap. There’s still no word on Samsung Galaxy A7’s price, but according to some sources, it will be rather affordable. Gadgets360 and Money Control write that it will set you back 350 euros (~$410). The company is hosting a Samsung A Galaxy Event on October 11, 2018, and we’ll know more details on the price then. It seems that dual camera is “so 2016” now, and even triple camera is slowly becoming a standard. Nokia, LG, and Light are even going ahead of their time and planning phones with five and nine cameras… But let’s cross that bridge when we get to it. [via Engadget]
