The Associated Press Joins The Nft Craze With Its Own Marketplace

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) seem to be all the rage right now. The Associated Press (AP) has decided to jump on the bandwagon, so it’s soon launching its own NFT marketplace. It will offer collectors the opportunity to buy NFTs of iconic AP images, including some Pulitzer Prize-winning ones.

You’ll need to start off by signing up for an account on the AP Marketplace. The marketplace will be available on desktop and mobile web through the AP Marketplace website. From there on, you’ll be able to purchase unique NFTs of photos taken by AP photographers. You can choose how you want to buy them, whether with a credit card, debit card, or cryptocurrency.

In case you’re concerned about the environment and the power consumption, the AP claims you have nothing to worry about. The AP Marketplace NFTs are minted on the Polygon blockchain, “which is an environmentally-friendly Ethereum-compatible layer 2 solution,” the AP writes. The AP Marketplace is still to be put into operation. At the moment of writing this, there are 20 days left until the official launch.
