The TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 manual focus Fisheye lens has been out for a couple of months now for Leica M mounts, priced at around $369. Now it’s also available for the Leica L mount (for around $250!) meaning you can use it with your full-frame Panasonic and Sigma cameras, too. The specs for the L mount lens are essentially the same as for the Leica M mount version, except it weighs a little more.

The lens has an anodised aluminium body, so it should be able to take at least something of a beating, although they don’t mention anything about dust or weather sealing. But they do say that this fisheye lens offers 180° field of view with “edge-to-edge sharpness” and a deep depth of field (although, that deep depth of field is pretty common to all fisheyes).

The ultrawide angle of view and fisheye perspective makes it ideally suited to many tasks like landscape, architecture and astrophotographers, but it’s also useful for things like 360° footage with a pair of cameras back-to-back, or 3D artists looking to quickly produce environment maps or potentially even photogrammetry of locations.

The Leica L mount version advertises a weight of 485g, which is a little heavier than the 439g of the Leica M mount version. Although, this isn’t an unreasonable weight for a fisheye lens. The TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 fisheye lens for Leica L mount is available to buy now for around $250 – which, oddly, is around $120 cheaper than the Leica M mount version, which is currently $369. Anyway, you can find out more about it on the TTArtisan website. [via Leica Rumors]
