All I want for Christmas is a camera branded teddy bear with miniature-yet-useless DSLR, said no photographer ever. If however, you have a penchant for stuffed animals and a particular leaning towards a certain camera brand, then you might want to check out this latest offering from Canon!
The teddy comes complete with his own 5D Mark IV plus 24-70mm lens and EOS camera strap. They are disappointingly just replicas (come on Canon, we want a teddy with a real working miniature camera next year!) although the lens is removable.
The collectable Canon bear comes wearing sports photography apparel: a photography vest paired with a red hat and shirt. He’s perfectly equipped for outdoor photography, though I wonder why he hasn’t upgraded then to the Canon R3 mirrorless camera if he’s specialised in sports photography. Thinking about it though, maybe he’s just waiting for one to come into stock! Canon describes the bear as a “pint-sized match for the up and coming photographer, though peculiarly then goes on to say that it is unsuitable for children under 14 years old. Their actual cameras don’t say that so I wonder if this is merely a liability disclaimer. While perhaps not top of my wish list this year, my 5-year-old would probably give his two front teeth for the bear. But I daren’t show it to him, because the budding photographer would not be impressed when he discovered that the 5D Mark IV camera around the bear’s neck didn’t actually work. He’d be in my camera bag in an instant swapping it up for a real one! What do you make of this? Unbearably cute or just unbearable? You can purchase the bear from Canon with and without the DSLR for $60 and $30 respectively.
