Yes, you’ve read that right: robot photographer is a thing. Eva Photography Robot was launched in February current year by servicerobots.com and this month, Eva made her debut at a wedding in Warwickshire, UK.
Gary and Megan Barker wanted something unusual for their wedding, so they hired Eva the robot to take photos of them and their guests. The robot is programmed to roam around the room and use facial recognition to latch onto a guest (or guests) and ask to take their picture. If the guests want to have their photo taken, they can strike a pose and Eva will snap away until they’re pleased with the results. From here on, the photos can be shared directly on social media. Also, photos can be printed off at the Print Station in the room.
The groom seems thrilled by the robot, as well as his guests: A servicerobots.com in a way confirmed Gary’s impressions: I believe that this quirky “photographer” was in the center of attention as much as the bride and groom. Still, worry not – it’s not a competitor to us flesh and blood photographers, it’s merely a cooler version of a photo booth. After all, humans are still better at photographing robots than the other way around. Well, at least for now. : ) [via FStoppers, Bride Magazine]
