There’s something about the sound of a camera’s shutter that speaks differently to different people. I know people who’ve even refused to use certain cameras because they hate the way it sounded when they fired a shot. For some, it’s practical reasons. If you’re shooting a wedding or other event, you usually want it to be as quiet as possible. You don’t want  your camera to distract people from the main event. Thanks to this video from a hands on review by dc.watch (translation), we now know what Fuji’s new GFX medium format mirrorless camera shutter sounds like.

It doesn’t have quite the satisfying clunk of medium format cameras which contain a mirror, but it does still sound rather nice. It’s a little loud, but there’s no lens attached, and the microphone was probably quite close. So, it’s probably much quieter in actual use. Is the GFX on your shopping list? Or have you already preordered the Hasselblad? What do you plan to shoot with a medium format mirrorless? Which camera has your favourite shutter sound? Let us know in the comments. [via Fuji Rumors]
