Beauty of Science has presented us with some amazing video before. To celebrate The International Year of the Periodic Table, the team has created a fantastic video which celebrates human life. We’ve all mainly been made of 11 chemical elements, and this video shows these elements from up close in a beautiful series of macro video clips.
As Beauty of Science explains, about 99.9% of our bodies were made of these eleven elements:
Oxygen (65.0%)Carbon (18.5%)Hydrogen (9.5%)Nitrogen (3.2%)Calcium (1.5%)Phosphorus (1.0%)Potassium (0.4%)Sulfur (0.3%)Sodium (0.2%)Chlorine (0.2%)Magnesium (0.2%)
The video organizes these elements in three groups: the first group includes gases and liquids, the second is metals, and the third group shows is non-metallic solids with an emphasis on different allotropes. I must admit I’ve never been much into science (especially chemistry), but Beauty of Science’s videos is where science meets art. Their work brings science closer even to us who aren’t really into it, making us see it in a different way and understand it better. So, I enjoyed this video as much as their other work, and I hope you’ll enjoy it too. [The Elements of Life via Beauty of Science]
