Last year, Yongnuo launched a budget 100mm f/2 lens for Canon mount. There was a word then that Nikon version would come soon – and it seems the time for that has finally come. Not only they will soon present us with the 100mm f/2 lens for Nikon, but they’ll also introduce a pancake 40mm f/2.8. Both lenses will be for Nikon F-mount, aimed primarily at full frame cameras.
It seems that so far the company has been focused more on launching products for Canon. They only offer a 35mm f/2 and a 50mm f/1.8 lens for Nikon. However, according to the post on Nikon Rumors, two more lenses will soon be available for Nikon shooters.
Both lenses come with durable metal mounts and multilayer coating for increasing transmission of light and reducing glare. The 40mm f/2.8 will have six aperture blades, while the 100mm f/2 will have nine. A handy feature of these lenses is the USB port, which allows you to update the firmware of the lens to maintain maximum compatibility and performance. They both have manual and autofocus, and while they are intended for full-frame cameras, you can use them on crop bodies as well. Here are the more detailed specs:
